Okay, I'll start the poll myself that I thought disappeared
start && end > -1) {
if (start > -1) {
var res = data.substring(start, end);
start = res.indexOf('>') + 1;
res = res.substring(start);
if (res.length != 0) {
eval(res);
}
}
cursor = end + 1;
}
}
}

This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
I'm going to refrain from voting on this until after the TB game. I believe we are definitely flying in turbulence, but too soon for me to tell what is really going to happen in the coming days.
Ultimately the buck stops with Ross.
He should never have gone out shopping for a new head coach with Ireland in tow.
Any top tier coach is going to want full control of personnel decisions. By denying that control to available candidates I think he had to settle for Philbin and his crew.
Philbin may still be able to find his legs and develop into a capable head coach but, clearly that hasn't happened yet.
We'll have to wait and see.

Shit happens.
Everyone thought they made a lot of good moves in the off season.
They tried to address the offensive line, but couldnt.
Couple of key injuries.
So it is hard to blame one person.
Except maybe Ross for the logo
He allowed 3 solid 'character' offensive players to walk in F/A, Thomas, Bush & Fasano (Bess wasn't a bad guy either).
He left the oline leadership in the hands of ahole & awipe, Incog and Pouncey.
You can develop a 'soft' olineman the Ravens did it w/ Johnathan Ogden. A really nice high character guy who developed into a fine olinemen w/out becoming a thug. But that was the Ravens they win super bowls.
This oline situation has cost us games and has festered. Now its time to clean house I hope Philbin is kicked out. To me all his character talk is hypocrisy.

Bush was a good player for the Miami Dolphins and could have returned at a "decent" price, but Miami had another RB who is similar and younger - Miller. They wanted to develop him, plus he was cheaper.
Fasano was a good, dependable TE, but not the type of TE that Miami required for their offense. They needed a seam guy; Fasano was not that. Clay is doing a surprisingly good job at the position.
Bess, also, did not fit into Miami's offensive philosophy. Gibson did very well (with the exception of those dropped passes). Bess also would have cost the Fins more $. I liked Bess, but that's just the way it goes in the NFL.
You are labeling Cog and Pouncey based on what you have heard lately because of Martin/Hernandez? I will reserve judgement until this case is finally closed and (hopefully) the real story comes out.
I am sure you are right, Mizzou, that a "soft" offensive lineman can be developed, but the player has to want it. It is possible Martin just doesn't want it or doesn't have it in him to do it.
Again, I will wait until this thing is done, then we will see who did what and the results.
The general or colonel in theatre is responsible for the overall outcome of the battle(s). It's on him. Same should apply with a football team. The ultimate responsibility is on him. It's not on Ireland or Ross. True they are at the "head table" but they are not charged with the responsibility of prepping the team, getting them schooled, getting them ready to play hard and effectively. Philbin's minions (LTs) are in place to carry out his game plan, his goal, his vision of how to beat the opposing team. What I've seen is not just lousy execution of plays, but poor play on the part of many players. To that end, each player is responsible for carrying his own weight, for working hard, to be effective within the vision or goal of the HC and his minions. Didn't happen, again.
Tannehill has improved over last year, but he isn't and won't be a top 10 QB. The search must continue for an 'A" caliber prospect for QB.
If Peyton Manning is an A+ player, Brady is as well. Brees not as good, but 'A' caliber. These 3 are the elite QBs.
Tannehill is a 'C' player at QB. If he could rise to the level of 'B' or B+ like Rothlesberger, we'd have something to write home about.
Our O-line is a ragtag group of guys; the D-line has declined; our running backs are C players at best last year. 7-9 versus 8-8. Waste of money, IMO.
Our LBs are overpaid under achievers. We should have drafted Kuechly.
Too much money spent without real benefit.
I could go on and on but why raise my blood pressure? Screw it, the season is over and Denver will likely take the SB trophy.
