KB, are you really comparing RG3 and Cam Newton to Tebow? If so, not even close, you'd have a better argument to say T Pryor or somebody along those lines, but those two are lite years ahead of the Messiah
If the Jags sign Tbow they are instantly getting at least 1 prime time slot next season. More if he does decent. Its STUPID at this point for them to not just sign him, throw a Jersey on him and at least let him hold a clip board. Cameras will be all over the place. Fans will buy tickets , think anyone gives a left nut about Chad Henne?

If they sign Tebow, which i still doubt, I'd bet you $$ that he's not even on the roster next year.

TCP, that's the problem with Tebow, the fans (especially in Jax) are so bat shit crazy over him, if he's on the roster there would be a bigger backlash over him not playing, it just creates this massive QB controversy that a team like Jax doesn't need right now.
Blaine Gabbert was hired. He got a job. The job is a bad one for him. It happens. He needs to get a chance somewhere else where the supporting cast is better than pitiful.
I liked him coming out of college and thought that with grooming and a decent team he could become a solid QB.

So, how to end that backlash? PLAY HIM!!! Hell, what is it going to hurt? What do they have right now and how is the team doing, as a whole?
Guaranteed fans are staying away in droves. Getting Tebow on the team will bring some back and playing him will bring even more in. They start winning and.....
Anyway, owners want to win, true...but they also don't want to lose money. Jax is losing right now; bring Tebow in and they "should" start getting more fans into the seats.
Some here say Tebow won't be on the team next year? Very possible, but for this year, who cares? Jax needs to get fannies in the seats.
Along with that, who here doubts that Jax will be drafting a QB with their first pick next year?

Isn't bringing him in "to put butts in seats" the same thing Ross tried to do with celebrity owners, red carpets and updated fight songs? How did our fan base respond to all of that?
What if you play him and he wins 2/3 more games than Henne/Gabbert would? You gonna be able to cut him without a fan revolt? You gonna trust him to be your QB of the future? If you sign him to hold a clip board, you'll have a mutiny every bad pass that's thrown and the same fan revolt for not bringing him back next year.
The best scenario (and most likely IMO) would be, he plays and stinks up the joint, that way Jax can say they gave the kid a shot, they put butts in seats, and they can draft the hot young QB next April and not invite Tebow back......not sure the risk is worth the reward though, if he wins 3 or 4 games, the zealots will revolt.
I think it's all a moot point anyways, I have seen no credible report of Jax even giving him a tryout. And on a side note, lets be honest, this is a QB that couldn't find any playing time on a team with Mark Sanchez as a starting QB, he may not even beat out Gabbert/Henne.

Butts in the seats: IMO, what Ross did was a little different than what Jax would do if they got Tebow. The fans WANT Tebow....it "should" bring excitement to the game. Tebow would be on the field; the folks Ross brought in are not on the field. The Miami fans could care less about those celebrities.
As far as if Tebow wins some games for Jax and then cutting him the next season, I would say it would probably be an easy thing to do if they got that hot shot, can't miss QB in the draft. If Tebow played well, he just may deserve to remain with the team; if he doesn't, the fans will give a crap if Tebow remains with the team or not.
As far as getting no playing time while with the Jets, that wasn't on him. Why the Jets even brought him in in the first place is a puzzle. I highly doubt that Tebow couldn't handle the packages that the Jets (supposedly) prepared for him. He did it while in Denver; I'm sure he could have done it with NY. Put that on the Jets' organization.
I also have neither seen nor heard anything about Jax being interested in Tebow.
