Dare We Believe?

That the Miami Dolphins N F L Football franchise has finally turned the proverbial corner after so many years of disappointment and letdown?

Dare we consider the possibilities???

And I'm wondering how many "internet fans" will actually hang if the team indeed becomes a POSITIVE force and therefore no longer provides sufficient "fuel" for the negativity fire?

Do some thrive on negativity and closet "rooting against the team" for their "darK" energy fix?

Sorry. I think I exceeded the question quota for one thread.

Have a wonderful evening.

BNF.

Yesterday was a big win... It was the type of game we would have lost in the past... FOr that I think, we should all feel good about what we saw yesterday... The problem with our team, is in the past, you never knew which team was going to show up... So far so good 2 game in...

Hey i was here always....even in the 1-15 season...

When that whiteboy caught that td against the ravens for the only win of the year i was happy as hell...I said to myself we are not the worst we are not the worst.

I've never ever gotten off the bandwagon.

And i never will.

Samsam I remember that friggin season, but I watched and prayed and prayed. When they finally won it truly felt like they won the damn superbowl! I'd never been so happy being a loser grinning smiley

Although this team still needs some cleanup work, it is looking better and better each day.

Respect. I watched every snap of every game of that 1-15 season, and I screamed myself stupid when I watched Camarillo catch that pass up the middle in the Ravens game. I almost got emotional watching Huizenga cry from the press box.

Too early, but winning the ones we used to give away. Would think we will only get netter if we get clay, Wallace , Matthews involved and the running game going

I've always been a fan and always believe we can win...that's not going to change. I'm very pleased with what the team is doing so far.

That said, we need a few things; 1. consistency in the running game, 2. figure out how to cover a TE, 3. tackle better, and 4. actually hit opposing QB's consistently instead of simply getting in the vacinity. (we did a great job of this against the browns but not so much against the colts)

Here's why I believe:

1: we have a QB...it's obvious to me that Tannehill belongs in the seat and continues to improve.

2: we have really good depth. One week Miller and Wallace post low stats, but Hartline and Gibson pick up the slack. The next week, Wallace and Clay are in beast mode and Gibson is the forgotten one. Our DL rotates at least 6 starter-quality linemen. Not great depth everywhere, but in some really key areas we have a lot of quality. Previously, if a team neutralized a key player, we had nowhere really to turn for the most part.

3: we are young. The talent we have on both sides of the ball has time to grow and develop together.

4: same page. Whether they are individually the best at their respective trades or not, at the very least our coach and GM seem to be very much on the same page. "Marshall doesn't fit the mold"..."Great! He's gone...don't care how much I spent on him. Do Wallace and Hartline fit the bill?". "It's a QB league. We need a great one that I can mold, and we need to put serious pressure on opposing QBs" "No problem - high 1st-rounders in consecutive years - not some other team's cast-offs."

5: glimmers of the 'it' factor. We were behind or tied in the 3rd quarter of both games so far, and we've found a way to come back and win on the road. Whether it's Tannehill and our pass rush taking command in the 2nd half at CLE or Grimes picking off Luck in the end zone, the momentum shifts are going our way.

6: buy-in. I get the feeling that players buy into what Philbin is selling. Winning breeds this, so it's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, I suppose. But, I don't care.

7: the division. I put this one last because we really don't have any control over it, and we should be built to win the SB, not just beat the 3 teams in our division. But, the division looks relatively weak. It's weird that we don't play a division foe until Oct 20, so I hope it doesn't give them time to work out their kinks. But, I'm pretty optimistic about our chances in all 6 of those games.

That's a good example of why the offseason acquisitions were good ones. No team has the ability to cover our 3 WR set with Clay at TE. You can't double everybody. Looks like Sherman was a little more creative in using Wallace this week on shorter routes to get him involved.

It also gives us time to fix our line issues and for Tannehill to build some chemistry with the receivers. Thinking they can only get better is a good feeling! We are already scoring 6 more point per game than in 2012. Add 3 more points on average and we are a top 5 offense.

More time also gives us a chance to get better by getting healthy with Jamar Taylor, Will Davis, Dimitri Patterson and also for Dion Jordan to get more involved.

I have to think we are a better team with those two rookies stepping up than having to use Jimmy Wilson in the nickle. Especially in the long run.

I've been disappointed way too many times in the past, so I will just take it "a game at a time."

They've looked pretty good so far, but have a lot of work to do, on both sides of the ball.
