It doesn't mean a lot right now and is good for experience down the road but.....

No way in hell should you move the best center in football to Right Guard. I don't think he should move at all but if inything, it should be to LG.

I don't mind seeing Incognito move to RG. I think it's a more natural position and a serious upgrade.

Samuda at Center has to be a bigger downgrade than putting him at either guard spot.

The downside is it leaves us inexperienced on the left side. It would put a young guy next to Martin who would benefit from a veteran presence.

All the injuries suck. Louis has yet to see the field and now Jerry is ailing. How serious? I don't know.

Assuming Jerry is out...this is best case...

LT Martin
LG Incognito
C Pouncey
RG Louis/Thomas/Samuda
RT Clabo

2nd option would be

LT Martin
LG Louis/Thomas/Samuda
C Pouncey
RG Incognito
RT Clabo

I think having Incog next to Martin is a better match and would pay dividends even though Incog may be a bigger upgrade on the right side ....at least Louis offers more experince next to Martin on the left.

Has Samuda progressed that much? Can Lance Louis get healty and steal a spot? Can Thomas show enough savvy to steal a LG spot?

It does allow another player to get reps at Center.

the center is the qb of the OL....Pouncey is our best Offensive line player. Leave pouncey at center...

He might not play guard well. And we know he plays really well at center.....

Why would you weaken 2 positions....Guard and center......leave him at center at least you know we have a stud at center.....

Everything else will take care of itself.

I don't care if Pouncey is a great Guard. Samuda is not as good a center as Pouncy, and as many have said when we took Pouncy at 15, Center is a much more important position on the line than G (and RG is supposedly the easiest position to fill of all). So in no way does it make sense to downgrade C in order to upgrade RG.

If Samuda sucks at Center then yes, its a bad move.

If he's any good then its a reasonable move.

It reminds me of when the Yankees picked up Arod all those years ago despite having a HOF SS in Jeter. ARod was the better SS at the time, but he got moved to 3B because his athletic ability and skill set transitioned better to that spot and they needed both in the lineup.

Sounds like Samuda may have a good shot starting at RG. That makes more sense overall. Keep Incog next to Martin for now.
