The constitution was not written in stone. It was designed with the idea of being changed if necessary, to evolve as a country and a society. Saying that this is "how it is" suggests it can't change.

Truth god doesnt make homosexuals....Like i said i believe the parents of a homosexual behavior before they are born might have to do something with it....

The genes..... did they do alcohol or drugs?.....JMO though..

I have no clue whatsoever why it happens but....

I guarantee you god did not create homosexuals...

IMO again its the parents behavior and genes that created it.

Could be a couple who are family members who fell in love..

there are many ways to look at it...

and please for others dont even begin to tell me you know why it happens because you dont...Neither do i....Im just stating an opinion of why it might happen.

I'm not going to get into a discussion about God Sam. That's an entirely different subject.

And I agree, none of us know anything about God so its a moot point to even got here, to a degree. Its still worthy of the intellectual exercise to discuss these things but this isn't the time or place for that.

I'm only curious about your comment where you said: "I guarantee you god did not create homosexuals."

How is it possible to do that?

Homosexuality = Divilish...

truth if you tell me the devil created homosexuals i might believe it but i still would have doubts...

Meaning i would lean more towards that i believe the devil created homosexuals as opposed to god.

Please dont say god created homosexuals.

god it everything good and everything perfect..

Humans do so many terrible things in their lifetime thats why you see kids born with aids and without an legs or arms...ETC...

Did the mother drink the vitamins and folic acid every day before the kid was born...? another way to look at it.

there are many posibilities why a person is born this way.

Just stating an opinion of a posibility i might be right or wrong....

And so might all of you.

truth for anyone that believes in a supreme being ( god ) would know that god is perfection.

Homosexuality is the opposite of perfection.

I wouldnt want another man looking at me even if he was straight...

Now imagine how i would feel about the queer.

You are entitled to believe anything you want, especially when it comes to religion. That doesn't make it right or make it wrong. That's why its a belief.

I was just curious how you were able to guarantee it. It seems that you were saying more that its your belief that God doesn't create them not that you could actual prove, or guarantee it. I figured that's what you meant but wanted to be sure. I mean, who could pretend to absolutely know the will of God to the extent they could guarantee anything?

The devil is the opposite of that.

Sympathy, NOT "Empathy"

What Mike Wallace said about the coming-out of a gay player is simply his statement that HE does not understand a gay's point of view. I understand that, I feel the same way. Just because he doesn't EMPATHIZE with someone does NOT mean that he doesn't SYMPATHIZE with that person. I don't pretend to know what he thinks on this subject, I only know what he said. As for me, while I can never empathize with any gay person because I am not gay myself, I can sympathize with that person's rights. The words are NOT interchangeible. It is clear that Wallace was just expressing the point of view of a non-gay person.

Move on people we all have to get along. I will not comment because my views are too extreme for this forum.

Again, I would suggest that you lok up the definitions of both words and compare them.

I guess what Rick is trying to say is that you may feel sympathy for a Black man in slavery, you really can't say that you feel empathy for him unless you were in that situation yourself.

In a way, I made the same point in arguing with a guy who was later was to become my best friend. He was a new Deputy AG and we were riding in the car with another DAG that of course I knew and he knew better. We happened to be in Hollywood, when me and my later to become best friend started arguing about gays. He was saying that they were only doing it because they wanted to be fashionable or wanted to be perverted. I said it was not a matter of choice.

To make my point, I pointed to a prostitute on a corner. She looked and was dressed to attract the maximum business. I said, "Look at her, man. I just wanna f her over and over again. And if someone would rather instead be with another guy, then that HAS to be the way he is made. You can't tell me you can be like me and NOT want to F her and instead want to be with another man."

I was making the point that gay orientation is not a matter of choice.

After reading many of Rick's posts, I think that's all he's saying.

I think Wallace may have been saying the same thing but like I said in my earlier posts, when you represent an organization, you should keep your mouth shut on such matters.

If you grew up rejected by society, you would understand.

Its an interesting question. I agree with you, I would be uncomfortable with the idea of it. I'd imagine most people would be.

I would also imagine that they would have to provide separate showering rooms. If a girl made a football team as a kicker, they wouldn't force her to shower and dress with the men. It would lead to a sexual harassment lawsuit.

I figure that this would be the same in that, a team would be opened to lawsuits from all its players for creating a hostile work environment if they were forced to shower with someone who could be sexually objectifying them.

It will be interesting to see how they handle it.

In basketball you have 15 man rosters. You could have a private shower for each of them.

In football you have 53 man rosters. That's probably not feasible.

Thanks guys for keeping this lively discussion civil.

I think now's a good time to end this thread. This discussion was relevant as it relates to what one of the Dolphin players did. It evolved, ever so politely and gracefully, into a separate but related discussion.

If you told me a year ago there'd be a debate on an issue like this that lasted four pages long AND we all behaved ourselves in general, I'd have never believed it.

But after merging two similar threads and containing duplicate posts it's time to put this one to rest.

I hope this civility carries forward to our discussions during the regular season.

Cheers smileys with beer
