Big problems at tackle

I feel we are heading for big protection issues with offensive line...
Martin was very weak in pass protection last season...

We need to sign Winston to add depth....

Martin will be fine. Starting camp getting the reps at LT from the get go will get him back in the groove. He managed to keep Andrew Luck alive plus Tanny has some good mobility.

I honestly didn't notice Long's absence much when Martin had to switch. It was sudden and unexpected since he was practicing & playing on the right side all season. I think he can only get better with time.

Expect Carpenter & Patterson or Marshall to be released freeing up another $7M

Winston, Clabo, McKinnie?

We are 23 million under the cap on june 1.

Money is not the issue. It will be interesting to see which tackles get released on June 1st.
The selection to choose from may increase.

W will sign a FA Tackle, No doubt about it. But I'm not worried about Martin. You people need to give Rookies a break. Just because they don't go to the Pro bowl in their first season doesn't mean they are a bust.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

If Miami signs Winston it won't be for depth; he is going to start unless he stinks up the joint during training camp. Dallas Thomas is the depth, but I truly hope he plays lights out and takes the job (and I don't care which side). But, I've heard that he just may end up inside.

We may have protection issues, but we may not.

No one, not even the coaches, knows what Martin is going to bring this year. They haven't even put the pads on yet. He supposedly has been working out at Stanford to improve his game at LT. He played OK at LT last year; with all the work he has already put in, then add that to off season workouts, hopefully he will be ready and become a fixture at LT for many years to come.

I can guarantee the coaches will be working extremely hard with him to get him ready.

our line isn't really that bad, we are solid at every position except tackle. and if we sign winston or clabo we would be solid at RT. And we COULD be solid at LT if Martin plays up to his draft status and his 4 year play as starter/All American LT in college. We could also sign McKinnie as a in-case-of-emergency LT. I don't think it's as dire as some are making it out to be

I'm expecting Martin to get stronger and more experienced.

I also don't expect them to schematically leave him on an island. I expect a 265lb TE or a good blocking RB to provide some assistance.
