Well players don't have that luxury but it is still interesting to know that you would still love Parcels if he quit in two weeks and went to Buffalo. He did not stay for another year. He said he was going to stay until Ireland and Sparano are ready. The year isn't over yet, it is just starting. That seems to have escaped you.

I don't recall JT pledging to stay with the Dolphins til death do us part so your marriage comparison is ridiculous.... But if you want to relate to the situation like that....It's more like you agree to marry someone, stay faithfull for 11 years then they leave and expect you to re-marry the replacement they pick out for you when you only have two years left to live, you decline and then they sell you to someone else.
yeah bill parcells, is all about himself, i mean i figured hey. 3 years all right then reality hits you by saying "oh i can leave now cause you sold the team, but ill stay for this year untill somone offers me more money you know what good go bill we dont need you here we got sparano. a decent team, and ireland to recruit so hey you dont want to be apart of a dynasty that you helped to creat, then fine go WE DONT NEED YOU HERE!

Now you're bashing Parcells? Dude, you need to take your blankie, suck your thumb, and take your nap.
Regardless of what happened in the past, JT won't be coming back to Miami as long as Parcells is here. There's just no way it will happen.
Looking back at the JT trade, I liked it then and I like it even more today. JT was hurt and very ineffective most of last year. Now the Skins have him for one more year in hopes that he will return to form at age 35. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. But with Parcells and Ireland pulling the triggers at the draft (as opposed to Cam or Wanny), I will be much happier getting a guy who can help us for 5 plus years, versus hoping JT could help us for one year.
2 key things I haven't seen:
1.) Bill Parcells seems to value players that can contribute (at the right salary).
PERFECT case in point: Ricky Williams
2.) There's a HUGE difference in situation this year versus last year.
Up until last year all signs indicated JT was a GREAT team player.
JT looking for a legitimate chance for a ring
BP & Co. looking to rebuild team, with team-first players (not dancers).
NOW, going into 2009, Dolphins CAN make a run, with the right additional players.....BIG difference on both sides.
Yes, mistakes were made but for the right price and the right attitude from JT to BP, I believe it "could" happen....unfortunately I don't believe it will because likely-to-be Free Agent JT will get more money from another NFL team than from Phin-land.
I agree that BP is all about the value and less about the antics we hear from the press.
Though we enjoyed a lot of room (cap wise last year) we too will be close enough by the end of FA & draft to need to be mindful.
For the mostr part I think the front office has been rather prudent (minus the wilfor deal), Porter was pricey but paid off this year.
I'd like to see us swap Beck to someone for some player value and lose a little cap cost in the process ... assuming we think pennington will be around for a couple more years.
