If people in New Orleans can deal with their NBA team calling themselves the PELICANS, then I think we can deal with a slight logo change.

He was most definitely drafted to be in the mold of Jason taylor..here's hoping.

And New Orleans used to have a baseball team called the Pelicans...it's their state bird. I guess the Heat shall furthermore be known as the Miami Mockingbirds!

I think they should have petitioned to have Utah change THEIR name...since they were the original NBA team in New Orleans...and New Orleans Jazz makes a LOT more sense than Utah Jazz.

I think they did do that. But the Jazz said, no thanks, we've had this name for a couple of decades now, we'll keep it thank you. The Utah Jazz is actually the original N.O. Jazz when they moved out of N.O. back in the day. So they must have maintained the right to the name when they moved.

Which is why owners of teams that get moved should rethink what their team name is to be. Utah Jazz is ridiculous. Anyone ever see real jazz coming out of Utah?

That's like if Ross (or whomever) relocated Miami to say Minny, would they still be known as the Minnesota Dolphins? There are no Dolphins in Minny.

I still miss the Oilers. Texas Oilers made sense. Not that The Houston Texans don't , but it just sounds kind of generic. Imagine being a dieheart Oiler fan and then "poof" its gone? And Texas is a big football state too.

I may be in the minority, but the new uni's and logo don't really bother me one bit.

I agree TCP, I think the uniforms are a decent change, but still dont like the logo. What is kind of funny, and I am sure it will change now that I am mentioning it on a public forum, that Philbin both days of OTA's he has given interviews on camera he is wearing the old logo... I find it a bit odd that they are pushing so hard for everything to be branded with the new logo, but HC Philbin is wearing the old logo... Is he making a subtle statement about the logo change..lol..... You would think one of our brilliant crack neck local reporters would have caught it by now...

Don't have too. The colors are fantastic. The Lack of Orange is growing on me. But I just can't stomach the Fish. I'm really bummed because I budgeted for New Shirts and stuff for the boys and was looking forward to it. Maybe a new Tin Logo for the Man cave. I just don't like it. Reminds me of the Marlins more then the Dolphins.

I can't stomach that flopping fish on the side of the helmet either.

And I don't think I can go to a game this year.
Seeing the team will be bad enough, but all the fans with their new shirts on will make me puke.

I can't understand how some people accept bad change, but then again some people are just followers.

Thanks for helping me feel a little better about the situation.

I am in NY and the Jet fans are starting to get on my case already.
But they know not to say too much these days.
They are an embarrasment for every thing else.

I do actually like the pants and possibly the jerseys except for that darn logo.

You and I have more in common then you think! I was born and raised in Staten Island NYC. Lived there for 33 yrs and then moved to Florida in 1999. Being a Dolphins fan in NYC was tough. Here in Florida you can root for whoever. in NYC I got my car vandalized for putting a Miami Plate holder on it. I was cornered in bathrooms at Giant stadium. Jet fans are the worst. I can only imagine the ribbing your going to get with that new Lame ass Fish tailed logo. Hopefully when we win though that will take away the smack talk.

I am about an hour north of the city and work with some people from Staten Island.
I pretty much only had really good experiences at the Meadowlands.
Always lots of Dolphins fans to hang out with and lots of high fives.
One Jet / Dolphins game I showed up early like 9am to meet my friends with my Marino jersey and a big group of tailgating jet fans called me over to hang out with them. We had a great time.
I almost had a problem wearing my Feidler jersey at a Dolphins / Giants game. I guess the Marino jersey demands more respect.
Actually my worst experience was with an A hole of a dolphins fan in Miami. This guy was a big mouth drunk and heckeling fans for the whole game. I was being pushed to the point where i was picturing my self in jail for knocking him out. (I never hit anyone in my life).
Security needs to do a much better job with idiots at games.
Then in the same game this huge dolphins fan throws a skinny bills fan into the seat right in front of me and start teeing of on him. Luckily for the bills fan i was above them and was able to get leverage on the dolphins fan so he really could swing. I should have let him get a couple of shots in though. He really deserved it.
This was a wild game. Miami was down by like 3 touchdowns and Sage Rosenfelds brought them back.
I always wanted to put a cool dolphins logo on my car (back to some logo talk) but i thought some jet fan might mess with it. Glad i didnt

I think based on your numbers we are close in age. I am 49.

Its funny. I also work with a huge dolphins fan from Staten Island.
I dont meet to many up here, so we get along pretty well.

For the record (back to logo talk again. I dont want to derail the thread). I think the pic at the top of this page with jordan looks really good. But i know that darn logo is on the side of that helmet.

Worst thing I ever saw at a game was in Buffalo.

After the game, my friends and I were walking across the lot and About 50 feet from us there were two fins fans decked out in gear and jerseys celebrating a Miami win as they were walking out. Some Bills fan came running up behind one of them and as he ran by the guy he cold cocked him in the back of the head and took off. The dude went down like a sack of potatoes, out like a light for a few minutes.

Worst I ever saw was at a Phins game at Veterans Stadium Philly. I saw a Phins fan ge the shit beat out of him by a crowd with a cop watching and smoking a cigarette. I took my Aqua Jacket off and left it in the trunk. I had to buy a Eagles Jersey and wear it inside out to keep warm. I didn't cheer 1 iota during that game. That is a Bad bad stadium full of some of the most despicable people I have ever seen.
