Why is Ireland getting reamed for something he has not even done yet? lol

Has Albert even taken a physical? I have not read anything on that. I know he is supposedly already staying in Miami.

Rumor is KC may take Fisher, in which case, we will trade up with Oakland for Joeckel (If Jax does not take him). That would cost too much IMO...(2) second rounders and a 3rd. I don't see that happening.

Nothing will be done until after we pick and probably not until Friday. If everything goes well, we don't even make the trade....I hope.

well, now the latest word is we are ok with giving up our 1st #2, and possibly the pick we'd get from Bess, for Albert, and then we will pay him 9mm per year.
sickening.

best scenario I see if we get Albert:
(1) trade #12 to SF for their #31, and KC's #2 they had acquired, and a 3d. Then we still end up with 2 #2s (even better than original one) and can take DBs and a WR with those picks.

with Albert's stupid contract we will be over the cap unless we dump Bess' $$ off the books, so this is all connected.

Reporters should get paid for how often they are right with this stuff.

Maybe so but I don't think so. KC has no choice but to take a LT in the draft. It's a waste if they still have to play Albert at LT and pay him franchise money. They also really want a 2nd round pick.

We need a tackle but we have other options.

If true, I just can't understand Ireland being willing to give Albert "elite" LT money. Just don't get it!!!

Sounds like Fisher is now the #1 pick for KC.

Either way, they are going to draft an OT whether Albert stays or not.

Miami is in a great position, but it "seems" like Ireland is letting KC get the best of him.

Hope this is all a smokescreen.

I wish to correct myself from an earlier post. I had heard that Albert was in Miami getting a physical; seems that isn't true.

Talks for Albert have been stopped until after round 1.

Cap, I am happy that you were right in your hope that it WAS a smokescreen.

I'd say both KC and Albert may be more willing to negotiate after round 1.

Ireland pretty much said take it or leave it with his actions yesterday. Love it.

would you rather:

(1) trade our remaining second rounder for Albert

or

(2) trade our 2 3ds for Albert and KC's high 4th?

I'd offer a 3rd this year or a 2nd next for Albert and I wouldn't call them again.

KC is painted into a corner here, I agree, take a 3rd or beat feet

I would trade for our third this year or forget it.. KC is in a bad spot, they got nothing to negotiate with... Ireland fleeced Oakland for that #3 pick, and he is going to fleece, KC as well, if they want us to take Albert.. It is a buyers market for Albert, and everybody knows it.. Reid is gonna wind up looking foolish if this transaction happens, like Miami played him hard... he is probably better to just eat it then allow the fleecing to happen...

I wouldn't trade anything but roster bums and 2014 picks (nothing higher than 3rd though).

They've got to get rid of the guy.

I'd rather give Martin one more year and draft someone available with our number 2 THIS year.

I don't think either of them is there at #54.

I think we need to trade up or we are looking at a guy like Fragel in the 3-4-5 range.

I think the CB's and OT's we would like will all be gone by #54.

If we stay at #54 I think it will be a WR. I think that's where the value would be: Stedman Bailey/Aaron Dobson/Quinton Patton.

Ireland is playing a good game w/ KC. He is right take yesterdays offer off the table and put todays, probably one of our third rounders. KC can take it or leave it. I hope they take it. Getting Albert for a third rounder is a steal.

Not a good steal to me unless Albert can play right tackle, cause I don't want to repeat the mistake of having Jonathan Martin try to play right tackle. Tanny got killed more by Martin playing right tackle than he ever did when Martin was moved to the left.
