the difference between us and the pats

is vast. we look like a college team playing a pro team. any time we get them into a 3d down it seems like a miracle. any time we get a first down, the same. let's not delude ourselves into thinking that with a few "breaks" we are a playoff team. In the playoffs we'd get bounced 62-7 by a good team playing its best.

hopefully we can close the gap next year if T-hill and other players improve and we add some great (not solid) players in the draft and FA. But we need everything to break right to beat a good team and today is not that day.

Today we've simply a step slow on virtually every play...this game is getting out of hand. If we don't do something soon this will get ugly after the half.

We need a few playmakers at the skil positions, at LB and in the secondary. That and more pass rushers...

you gotta keep in mind the Cheats have been getting every break from the league for years -- such as us playing in the Artic when the "better game" would be for the Dolphins to play the Cheats in Suckboro stadium the first week of the season and the Cheats play in Miami the last week...

But no. The Cheats have been given every PI holding tuck rule HGH cheating ass gift for about 10 years now. And the scheduling is totally off the charts an embarrassment IMO. So first of all -- the "playing field" is not remotely level.

The Lady has had the benefit of legalized holding on their OL for about a decade. And yet regardless of the player it doesn't get called -- even when the Lady is obviously the most inferior athlete to ever play NFL coitusback. In fact the position used to be quarter-back before the Lady single-handedly redefined the position in vaginal terms.

True story.

BNF, that's the kind of thinking that causes us to delude ourselves into thinking we are close to the pats. any of that making a difference today? the league is making us play there in Dec? Boo hoo. A real team wouldn't give a f*k

Well... IMO I think you're fooling yourself if you don't think scheduling is a "big deal."

I know they suck and cheat and get every break and yet they play state-of-the-vaginal-art football. But I despise their franchise, their brand of "football" and the leagues quid pro quo favoritism that always benefits their agenda.

None of that precludes our situation and the fact we're a team that has "upside potential" yet has not proven crap yet.

ok so when team have to play in mia at 1pm in sept do you think they are crying about it? I hate the pats but you've got to respect them. the run they have been on is more impressive than any run we've had in our franchise history. you can't chalk it up to "cheating" or an nfl conspiracy.
we need to get our own crap together before we are in the same league as the pats

Looks like #Dolphins could pick anywhere from 11-15. SD, MIA, CAR, TB and NO all look to be 7-9

the Cheats SUCK SUCK SUCK more than any franchise in the history of pro sports. That's my opinion. I have ZERO respect for their supposed "accomplishments" which are ALL 100% tainted!

If you want to be a closet Cheat fan feel free... But not me.

not a closet pats fan at all. but you gotta admit they have been pretty damn good for a very long time. I certainly hate them less than the jets.
believe me, I lived in boston for 7 years, I hate the pats and their fans.

Yeah, I knew this was going to be a route.
The silver lining is we better our draft position a bit.

The Pats always route whoever they play on the last game of the year.
It's a tune up game to carry them through the bye week they usually get.

It sends a message to a up-trending divisional opponent as well.

Tannehill looks timid and slow(thinking and moving).
All told, he's a project. Not totally sold on him yet. But I know he's the best we've had in a while, so I'm holding out hope.

It's obvious we still need help along the o-line. It needs to be a priority in the off-season.
Other priorities include WR, TE, OLB, and CBs. A real power back would be nice. Daniel Thomas is a dud. Sorry Jeff.

We're not close now, but given the right pieces this off-season, we can be a 9 or 10 win team next year to significantly close the gap.

Sorry, but I jumped all over NE -10.5 pts. Gotta take the easy $$$!
Oh, like I'm alone?!......Come on!!

I was lucky to be in New England from Sept 1970 to May 1973.

The Pats were a joke.

I was first concerned with they got Jim Plunkett but that turned out not to be a solution for them.

In that era, our rivals were Johnny U, Joe Namath and later Bert Jones and the Baltimore Colts.

I remember that the INAUGURAL game at Foxsboro was against us. LOL. We slaughtered them. I was there.

And people say our big shot is with the draft picks and the cap space. But I don't see it. Ireland doesn't have near the consistency needed to build a winner. This team is in bad, bad shape.

Could be worse , you could be a Jets fan. Maybe you are.Dolphins took a positive step when they fired Sprano. This draft had many promising Rookies. Give it a chance. The most dissapointing thing this season was Jake Long IMO. Time will tell how that plays out.
Tanny needs blocking and recievers who don't drop the ball. Binn dropped a sure touchdown, and Bush fumbled on the goal line. Our defense gave up after that. We make those two plays on offense , its a different game.

We are not that bad. Your just a negative prick. Have a happy New Year anyway, but you sound like a miserable person and probably won't. Its your decision. I enjoyed this year and the demise of the Jets. Phins have alot of upside if you choose to see it.

Go Dolphins!thumbs up

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I know 28-0 sucks really bad, but did anyone really think we were gonna go on the road in bad weather, against one of the top teams in the league, who needed the win for playoff purposes, and win? Yeah a close game would of been nice, but a loss is a loss.

Yea, they border on cheating with all their pick routes and they get all the breaks and calls and no-calls. THe breaks and calls are because the have won for so long. And why is that? To me the difference is they have an all world QB. Like I said on another thread. Folks here keep saying we STILL can't seem to come up with a passing game because of no big, all-world receiver. I say, bull. Exactly WHO FITS THAT DESCRIPTION ON THE Pats? Ready for the rest home Branch? or one of the small, slow guys like Welker or Woodhead who were the leading receivers on the Pats who threw for almost 5000 yards this year?

Did we miss with Tannehill? Not sure yet, but We're crazy if we don't keep our options open. Alex Smith and several others will be available. Flame away but there it is.

You want to know the difference between us and the PATS?

Answer this question: Other than Pouncey, and possibly Hartline....what Dolphins player could start on the New England Offense?

Alex Smith doesn't fix that equation. Not by a long shot.

One player seemed to do WONDERS for the Redskins, Colts, and Seahawks, ALL losing teams last year with records (and passing games) as bad or worse than ours. And that player WASN'T a Lineman or Receiver.

Alex Smith MAY NOT fix anything but to date Tannehill hasn't either. Our team passing stats are WORSE this year than last. Until we find 'the guy' it WON'T get any better. We can keep kidding ourselves like we have been for over 10 years now and we'll KEEP losing.

tannehill was one armon binns perfectly thrown back shoulder td pass dropped from having similar stats to brady.

no they don't have all world wrs but they have a system in place that made matt cassel look good.

i don't think i saw brady complete more than 2 passes that traveled more than 5 yds down field.

if marino played in this offensive friendly era he'd have thrown for 6000 yds and 60tds. when in distress all the qb needs to do is take a step to the right or left and throw it away. dbs can't touch wrs going over the middle.

one thing i did see for the first time in a few years was an offensive holding call on the pats.

The difference between us and <insert any good team> is the talent at WR. The receivers on other teams make the plays they're paid to make. Ours do not.

Over the years NE has taken numerous Miami castoffs to the playoffs and even the Superbowel. Belicheat seems to get more out of individuals.

he's much calmer now that he knows he'll be getting preferrential treatment.

Of course they were worse. We had a Rookie QB and we traded our best WR.

What did you expect?

Yes, yes I know...Wilson and RG3 played better...but they are the exception to the rule. Rookie QB's take time to develop.

Freaking out because RT wasn't Dan Marino reincarnate as a rookie is almost as crazy as wanting to bring in a so-so 6 year veteran who happened to play ok on the most talented team in the league the last two seasons to replace your rookie QB.
