One win by Cincy and we are out. To have everything else happen is improbable.

And I agree with berk that we would lose horribly even if we were in.

The thread was half-academic and half-hearted.

It's great to feel that way.

Mathematically, yes, we are still in it. Everything else.....no!

Lots to look forward to next season. This will be one of the more enjoyable off seasons in a while with some real hope on the Horizon.

But, Ireland/Philbin have to make some exceptionally smart decisions this off season to continue the growth of the Miami Dolphins.

Don't get the right guy(s) in FA or the draft, it will be another long season with Ireland getting fired at the end of the 2013 season, and possibly seeing Philbin leave.

If they make the right decisions, and especially is Ireland (finally) gets that superstar guy in the draft, then the outlook should be positive.

Both MNF and the NFL.com say the Jest are eliminated. Can't figure out why but assuming they aren't

We root for Pitt/Cincy
Ourselves/Buff
and SD over NYJ.

I wonder if it's because of a tiebreaker we had with them.

But what if we lose to Buff and/or NE and are eliminated ourselves and they end up in a 3 way tie with Pitt and Cincy at 8-8.

I looked it up. They have played neither. But I didn't look at conference records.

If we win out, we have a good shot. The possibility is quite high that Cincy will lose both games and the Jets just suck.

Yup. And people bag on me for an honest assessment of a QB, when some of you still refuse to believe we will be in the playoffs.

I still think if we hadn't have played a rookie at QB for the entire season we would be in the playoffs.

1. Dolphins win vs. Buffalo AND at New England
AND
2. Jets lose or tie vs. San Diego OR at Buffalo
AND
3. Bengals lose at Pittsburgh AND vs. Baltimore
AND
4. Steelers win vs. Cincinnati AND lose vs. Cleveland

Doesn't seem too bad a chance. steelers and Ravens are both declining, but Bengals could still lose against an angry Steelers team this week plus who knows Patriots might be resting their starters in week 17.

I hope the Ravens are not declining because we need them to beat Cincy next week to make the playoffs.

The Ravens are already mathematically IN.


We Cincy and Pitt are competing for the last spot.

If Cincy wins against Pitt then they are in.

If Pitt wins, then we get it Pitt then lose to the Browns and if Cincy LOSES to the Ravens and we beat the Jills and the Patsies.

Still long odds but not as long as before last week's games.

NE is still fighting for a home field playoff game so I doubt they will resting any starters unless Baltimore loses and then we are screwed anyway.
