I actually think we have a shot at pulling off the upset this weekend (even though I picked the 49ers in my confidence pools), I think our strength on Def combats who they are on offense pretty nicely, and I think with the inexperienced Kapernick starting we could catch this team off gaurd a bit. If we can shut down their running game (QB included) and keep this a low scoring affair, we have a punchers chance. They have way more talent then us, but I just think we match up nicely with them.
I'm more concerned to see how RT, Sherman, Coyle and Philbin learned from their past mistakes. I want to see some improvement and not taking key players out in key situation.
I want to see RT be more accurate and get some chunk yardage.
I want to see less penalties and less fumbles.
I also want to get a look at our tackles. Both will be facing the leagues sack leader as well as a pretty good 3-4 DE. Both named Smith.
Rashad Jones is turning into a damn good SS. I hope his playmaking continues.
I want to see if Olivier Vernon is progressing enough to take over the LDE spot next year.
I want to see Bush hit the hole quicker. Continued hard running by the overlooked Daniel Thomas.
I want to see our darned WR's score a TD.
Charles Clay creating mismatches.
Javorskie Lane? Where has he been?
Rishard Mathews makes plays when given the opportunity. Can he catch more than one ball per game?
if SF had won its last game vs the rams, then MAYBE we'd have a chance of catching them overlooking us. But with them mad, and us having to fly to the west coast, and with inexperinced tackles facing Aldon Smith and that defense, I fear it could get ugly. I am thinking like 31-13 ugly.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
There's always a chance to beat the 49ers, however, we can only hope that Martin, in for Long, can protect Tannehill from big hits from the blind side. Garner, I understand is going to play RT. Don't know how that's going to work out.
I suggest short, quick slant passes...that's all there will be time for in the pocket... RT needs to move out of the pocket to create my time to threw mid range passes. We need to run and I agree Clay needs to be a factor.

It can also work the other way. They get beat by a bad team like the Rams and we make a few plays...they start doubting themselves. Especially since we already beat the Rams.
