Things I'd like to see...

1. More reps for Rishard Matthews. We need to know if this guy is a keeper or not.

2. More reps for Lamar Miller and less for Reggie Bush. Again, with no playoffs to think about, we need to see if Miller can take over for Reggie next year.

3. I'd like to see a little more of Thigpen at tailback as well. The kid seems to be a playmaker and it would be nice to see what he brings to the offense.

4. I would have said, play Jonathan Martin at Left Tackle because I can't see any way that Jake Long is back next year, but it looks like that's going to happen by default, any way.

5. Move Devlin to 2nd string. If the back up QB has to go in for any reason, I'd rather see if Devlin has the stuff to be a quality backup rather than have Moore come in when we know that he won't be on the roster next year any way. Again, we need to know how we will fill holes on the roster for next year and not cosmetically scratch and claw for meaningless wins. Don't get me wrong, you play to win the game (my Herm Edwards impression), but more important is having a plan for next year. It's not like Phibin is coaching to keep his job (at least not at this point).

The year has gone full circle. I went into this year thinking it was about next year... I bought into possible playoffs after the second jet game, and now I'm all about next year again.

Yes, Dolfanking, I know that you think Tannehill is a terrible Quarterback. We all know.

Very true on all accounts.

Thigpen did have one carry on offense this week. It was a quick little burst for 8 yards.

I also saw Mathews make a nice catch for 28 yards. He seems to make the most of his limited opportunities. He has a 23.5 yard average right now. lol...on two catches.

I would say more carries for Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller. Miller still may be struggling in pass pro and we don't want to get RT killed. Thomas is running harder than Bush. He also had another fumble.

I would also work on getting more balls to Charles Clay to see if we still need an upgrade at TE.

You have to have a QB that can see the entire field. Not one that decides to throw the ball before the snap of the ball.

Matthews I believe will be something special. I am a fan of his.

You also have to have a receiver that can consistently stretch the field, a running game that will consistently put you in 2nd and manageable not 2nd and 12 or 2nd and 13. You need a more consistently performing offensive line than has been on the field this year. There was a reason Manning would rather play in frigid Denver rather than sunny Miami where he already had a residence.

Yes, Dolfanking, I know that you think Tannehill is a terrible Quarterback. We all know.

No need to address DFQueen. He was beat up pretty bad and won't be back for a day or two. He is out healing with Tbow. grinning smiley

I agree on the current crop of Rookies. Play'em! This season is meaningless. Lets see what we have and what we don't. We have some good picks early in the draft , lets make them count. Clear the Cap with Long and Bush's salaries and lets see who else is out there that will fit us better.

Yes It makes sense to root for a 7th round draft pick that has two catches over possibly supporting our first - 1st round QB in 17 years. You are a true fan sir.

I agree with giving more carries to Lamar Miller as he needs to prove himself more. Daniel Thomas has shown what he is; short yardage back with a good burst of speed but not going to blow anyone away in the open field, prone to fumbling though.

Awesome idea to continue to work Clay way more into the game as he seems to be a very versatile and explosive TE that we are NOT utilizing as much.

BTW, I am new to the forum but have always been a die hard phins fan.

Your a freaking wacko eye rolling smiley

Sorry I don't like your pet QB. You should learn to live with that and not harbor grudges.

Maybe you can go beat someone up and feel better. Your a cop, right?

Cops don't routinely beat people up...that kind of crap just shows you don't have a clue what you are talking about DK. The very, very, very, very, few that actually do engage in things like that don't stick around very long, and they always get caught.

Your absolutely right. This was not made to be a general statement about the police. I have family members who are cops and they have the toughest job in society. As a whole police officers are heros in my mind.

But, I'm not talking about cops in general, just the one that is stalking me on this chatboard, calling me names, attacking my mother.

Why? Because he disagree's with me slightly about a QB.

Clearly the problem with this "cop" isn't my take on Tannehill. He has serious anger problems, so I can only assume he IS the type of cop that has the job because he likes to beat up on people. There are some out there -I've heard those stories for sure.

Thats it right there. MY pet QB? Sorry thats the TEAMS QB. the Miami Dolphins remember? I didn't like Henne either , but I rooted my ass off for him when he threw for sick yardage agianst the Pats at the home opener on a Moday night in 2011. You are NOT a Miami Dolphins fan. If you are one , then you are a piss poor one. One that roots against a 1st round draft pick so you can try to make a point.

So? I didn't like Henne and I rooted for him to. Do you have a point?

Boo freakin' hoo. You need to grow a pair and realize that every fan is not like you. This seems to be a difficult concept for you.

This is just a lie. But that won't stop you from accusing me of "rooting against RT" and having your little buddies repeat it over and over again.

You are a liar. Plain and simple.

Well, if you're not rooting against him, DK, you are certainly WAITING for him to make a mistake so you can point it out on this board.

You know how I know that's true. I know it because since you've blamed him a lot when the fault was with other members of the team and since you've not given him his fair share of the credit when the team has won some games, then it follows that you are just waiting for him to make an actual mistake so as to prove your point that we should never have drafted him at 8. _/ fn.

_/ Footnote. That's an issue that we all should have left by now.

You are big on accusations and small on football takes.

You really should give it up. Stop following me around. You are putting too much energy into this.

This is a matter of perspective. Some people on this board seem to agree with me, some go ballistic and say they wish I'd die. That kind of response over dramatizes the blame and makes it seem that I'm being a lot more drastic than I am.

Not true. I've given him credit. People just don't seem to drag that out into 100 post threads.

If that is the logic you need to sleep at night, so be it.

I think maybe that Narcissist list more closely describes you.

Nobody has called me a Narcissist before. But making that kind of diagnosis without knowing someone - that is the kind of thing a Narcissist would do.

RE: Glad to hear it. I don't know if its the toughest job in society but it sure is not easy often times.

RE: Well the why is mostly because of what, when, and the quantity of what you post. Pity you can't seem to see that. You do have a pattern to your posting that lends credence to the claims of others.

RE: I've been here a very long time and and most of the time the anger people express here isn't really anger. Its instead the manifestation of innaccurate, overbearing, highly opinionated, and inflamitory beliefs. Those beliefs are usually expressed here only to serve the agenda of the poster, and are usually negative in nature. You do fall into that category much more often than not...I hate to say.

Lastly, assuming that someone you don't know in the least is "that kind of cop" is also a pretty long and reckless leap of logic...just saying.

Its right up there with some people assuming that Tannehill (or any QB for that matter) will be/is a flop because he has more interceptions that touchdowns as a rookie...really means nothing and has no merit at this point in his career.

Anybody who thinks they can accurately evaluate a rookie QB who lacks a legit #1 WR, who has a Left Tackle that is experiencing lingering injury induced decline, and is working with a system that is new to the majority of his cast.....knows little about football.

It is too early to render a final verdict on Tannehill.

But for a guy that played WR for 2 of his 4 years in college? he shows progressive development.

DolphanKing...you seem to have dug in your heels to defend a conclusion that is prematurely arrived at. Relax and give the kid a couple years.

I have been reading your posts for weeks now and notice a pattern. You love to bring up old stuff like this guy has said this and this guy said this about me, this guy hopes I get hit by a car wah wah wah. You seriously remind me of a f*****g woman Dufusqueen. Always crying on anyone's shoulder that will listen. For god's sake STFU already, you bring this public lashing on yourself and then love to play the innocent battered poster bit.

I am starting to see a few things about Philbin and co. that are a bit disturbing. Not unlike most HC's but he is almost stubborn to a fault.

I am talking about he defense of the games final drive.

Coyle said Wake and Odrick couldn’t have done anything more than what Vernon and Shelby did.

“Honestly, I’m not making it up, what I’m trying to tell you,” Coyle said. “It’s exactly what happened. Those two guys, they did a good job in the drive.”

BS. No way in hell will you convince me that Wake and Odrick should not have been in the game on the most important defensive series in the game.

Can you imagine Zach or JT being pulled on an important drive like that?
If Burnett and Dansby can play every snap then Wake and Odrick can mix up the rotation and play two series in a row to get in the game on that drive.

Shelby had 0 tackles for the game and Vernon had 1 tackle. That's it.

Wake is a playmaker. There is no telling that he wouldn't have shook off a tackle and made a play in the backfield to end the drive.

You rotate guy to keep your starters fresh. Fine. You don't take them out of the game when the defense needs to win the game for us.

Philbin and Sherman alway praise Tannehill for learning from his mistakes. Hopefully JP can learn to practice what he preaches. Great coaches adapt. Good ones aren't around for very long.

Maybe it was intentional to get better draft picks next year. The press certainly has been grilling Philbin in that direction. Good, I hope it foiled their plans. No way the fans should be treated like that just to save Ireland's job in the long run. It's not good for the Franchise either way. Either Ireland called that shot and the decision to intentionally lose the game came from upstairs, or Philbin's just that fu&king stupid.

I don't believe in those conspiracy theories or that Philbin is stupid. I think they made a mistake and don't want to create more media drama by admitting it was a mistake. Hopefully they learned from it.

If they were really trying to tank the game they would have pulled Solia and Starks. Not DE's.

I wonder if they get paid more if they win more games?

If they get to the playoffs?

If they win in the playoffs or win superbowl?

Just a thought.
