This guy drives me crazy. After a nice rookie campaign, and the introduction of the WCO, I was sure this would be his year. After not
doing much yet this year, he makes a beautiful catch in traffic to make the first touchdown possible. Then, he drops TWO important third down passes and when we need to run out the clock, he runs out of bounds a yard short of a first down. Stupid play. This kid needs to get his head out of his a**.
On the other hand, Tannehill wasn't responsible for a single turnover today and played a beautiful game. Kudos.
Somebody needed to make a play to win it, and I was sure it was going to be Nolan Carroll, he acted like he wanted to be the guy and nearly was twice. I was delighted it was Rashad Jones, I've liked him since he got here. It was poetic that it was a DB, though.
It's a matter of consistency and awareness. Knowing what needs to be done in critical situations is what top players do--routinely.
Clay is still young and needs more opportunities. He also needs to be told (repeatedly if necessary) to respond in a certain manner when you're trying to manage the clock.
I was thinking the exact same thing about clay. The two drops got me going. Then he ran out of bounds! I'm almost ready to cast him in the heap with thomas and carpenter!
