A 47 yard FG is too far? If so, we need another Kicker...IMMEDIATELY.

Actually the percentages are that the fg success rates are lower without the timeout. They talked about whie carp was missing yet. again.

I'm certainly going to defend it against stupidity.

Philbin is a better coach than the last three.

I think some people were upset with the play calling in this one, but I get it. The Jets D is one of the most complicated in the NFL, and RT looked overmatched by the varios looks. With Bush on the bench, it becomes a much more difficult game for the kid. I get the conservative play calling.

The only area of concern for me was the last sequence of regulation where RT threw deep passes 6 times in a row. He was off the mark on every pass and got bailed out by a generous PI call (the ball was very uncatchable).

That wasn't the coaching staff - if anything they were not being conservative enough... but without Bush the running game was going nowhere. The problem here was the pass selection by Tannehill. He had a ton of timeouts and could have easily picked up yardage in smaller chunks.

Perhaps this is his youth... but those deep passes were not at all accurate. A better QB would have put at least one of those on target.

So, I'm still not seeing what is so great about Tannehill.

Well, no question we should have won that game...it sucks, but there are positives.

We also know where we HAVE to go with our first four draft picks...WR, and LB.

The reason we lost was because our main offensive weapon is on the bench. A rookie QB can only do so much...

I don't know whether it was this game or a college game yesterday but the announcers said that

on non-timeout called kicks.....74% are made

on timeout called kicks .......82% are made.

That was a bush league call to call that timeout.

Hey atleast we will get a high pick in the draft and hopefully address our abysmal WR position.

DK hit in on the head. Tannehill kept throwing deep instead of taking the underneath stuff and at least picking up yards. We had 3 TO so we could stop the clock. Hopefully he learns from this. Big time meltdown.

Playcalling wasn't that bad, I understand being conservative plus Tannehill missed open guys, we had dropped passes, and we gave up a couple big plays on D.

Not sure about the hate for DThomas, besides the fumble he played pretty well. He isn't a game breaker but he runs hard and he broke some tackles. He gives good depth at RB behind Bush and he definitely has a place in the NFL. That being said, once Miller learns all of the offense and improves his pass pro then I think Thomas moves into 3rd in the RB pecking order.

If he doesn't call the timeout, we get the ball back.... It is as simple as that.... Our inexperience hurts us at Qb and Head coach today..... And f'ing carpenter just screwed the pooch......

I just plain don't like the icing the kicker TO's. But it is ridiculous to think that Philbin should have forseen that we would block the kick. That is hindsight bitching at its finest.

Take away a stupid pick 6 and we win the ball game.. Our defense kept us in it, with some big stops and a pick in the endzone by Clemons..... We got out coached in the second half.... I like philbins but he doesn't seem like a factor during the game... Both his cordinators are in the box and he isn't exactly interacting with players on the sidelines... Out TE coach and oline coach seem like the only guys interacti g with players on the sidelines...I hate when we lose games to teams we should have beat, add the jets to the equation and I am just through the roof over this loss....

Right Crowder on everything but only half on the takeaway that pick 6 and we win. You're right even on that but take away the silly play calling in overtime and we get Carpenter close enough so that the field goal is a no question. But not only that but there were a lot of bone head plays throughout the whole game by the coaching and even calling that stupid timeout to "ice" the kicker .........and to also ice our blocked field goal.

You should have seen Sparano and Ryan openly laughing at us on the sidelines.

Tony Sparano had the best day of his life today.

Who would have thunk we could go out and get a bunch of clowns more stupid than him???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

My problem is communicate that with your team that you are gonna ice the kicker not send Starks with his best move with everything he has got and accomplish the impossible for it to be irrelevant because you forgot to tell him it wasn't going to matter what he did on that play.... Dumb as f!ck and inexperience IMO

this season is not about finishing 6-10, which is all we'd do with Matt Moore. It's about seeing if we got a franchise QB and getting him better for year 2. Playing Matt Moore is plain stupid. I'd rather lose this game with RT than win it with Moore. There, I said it.

Who said anything about playing Matt Moore?

Talk about going off point...

I don't know about that. Whistles were blown just before the ball was snapped and so it is very possible that some of the Jets players were taken by surprise. I'm not sure that if the timeout wasn't called that the block would have happened... that is a big assumption to make.

Either way - this is not a tactical error, or due to inexperience. Don Shula was calling timeouts to ice the kicker in '96 - so experience has nothing to do with the. And the coach had no idea that it would get blocked. Had the kick not been blocked, then nobody would have said a word about this timeout.

The timeout was hardly why the game was lost. It's just something for fans to bitch about.

But it has gotten old since Shula. It doesn't do anything now but relax the kicker.

He's nervous enough about the kick itself.

Just ask Carpenter.

He was shaking like a leaf on both those field goals he blew.
