Sorry A*s Detroit Lions

Anyone living in the Detroit area, you can tell them that there is a fan on the Miami Dolphin chatboard who is calling them the most sorry ass team in memory.

They have two touchdowns in the first half, one off a pick sjx So they let the Bills come back and tie it in the second half.

Ordinary stage of being pitiful.

Late in the fourth quarter, I mean after the two minute warning, the Lions get a chance to go up 17 to 14 on an about 40 field goal.

THE KICKER MISSES IT!

The Bills get the ball back with about 40 seconds left to go.

DAN CARPENTER IS CALLED UPON TO MAKE A 60 yarder.

HE DOES!

(Probably knowing it would also be sticking it to the Dolphins).

I remember all of you on this board who thought he was a baby for missing a 58 yarder when we threw bombs into the endzone instead of running the ball to get him closer.

Yes, without a doubt the best field goal kicker in the NFL.

I don't want to be the team that needs to depend on 60 yds FGs. But it's nice when you can I guess.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I started hating Philbin when he GAVE up. No one is perfect. Coaches make mistakes, but go out swinging. When I saw him run the clock when we had over 2 minutes with all three timeouts........that blew my mind. Fing Loser mentality. he needs to go.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Write me down for wearing a pink tu tu, I could really give a sheet, but how does me calling you out for changing your argument translate to me supporting Philben in any way, shape or form??????
<<why did ask the question, why did I ask the question, why did I ask the question.......>>

I'm more worried about the Oats finally realized they have the best TE in the league on their team.

I am OK with Philpin.

Just cant see changing coaches so much.

Better players make a hell of a coach.

I do agree with treasure though, you got to go for it in that spot!!

Not getting him as close as possible but relying on him to kick a 48 yarder AS IF it were a 35 yarder.

When you have a guy at 48 yard football range, you try to make it 40 or even just 46 if you can. PARTICULARLY WHEN YOU ARE THREE POINTS BEHIND AND IT'S EITHER WIN, LOSE OR OVERTIME.

You don't throw THREE BOMBS AND then say to the kicker "No big deal. We know you got this anyway."

He was still just a kid and I guess psychology and 'THE TRUTH' are two different things and "holics" can reason through the booze.

He would have made the SAME 48 YARDER had Philbin given the ball THREE STRAIGHT TIMES to Reggie Bush or Daniel Thomas or whoever was there at the time and these runners had been stuffed on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd downs.

But with each long bomb, the Kid Carpenter sitting on the bench got more nervous thinking "Hey, this isn't a given."

On the other hand, had three straight running attempts been stuffed, the Kid is thinking "Hey, a 47 yarder? I got this."

It's called psychology but I guess I'm talking over both of your heads.

So according to chryen's argument Philbin and his staff instilled confidence in they young kicker by running the ball.

Credit to Philbin!

LOL. I can only remember it the way I remember it. And I also remember a Tanny sack and I seem to remember complaining about the calls in 2 games but on my phone now. Will check later.
