More evidence we may have dodged a bullet by not pursuing (and overpaying for) Flynn. Linked article in Newswire says Carroll is considering benching him in favor of the rookie they drafted.

Russell Wilson has been really impressive this preseason

You need To draft a true #1 QB. Teams don't get rid of Franchise QB's unless they are done. I wouldn't have minded Drafting Quinn and see him fail. I was pissed they never reached for that #1 QB pick. Always looking for the bargain at the most important position. I know the Rookie pay scale used to be out of wack so they needed to be careful, but where did it get them? Finally Tanny looks like he can be the man. thumbs up

Philbin got this one right. Ireland just took his advice.

Actually Ireland has a pretty good track record dodging QB bullets.....Moore instead of Orton/McNabb/Kolb last year, and Flynn this year (can't really count Peyton, he kinda dodged us)

Yeah, I know dolphaholic but it still is a dodge because suppose that he had WANTED us? In other words, "careful what you wish for" still applies.

Have to agree that Flynn would have been bad. Yet somehow that was the first QB Ireland went after.

Go figure.

no, payton manning was the first. and it made perfect sense that flynn would be the second, given his history with philbin. it was a good move for Ireland not to over pay to sign him. you criticism is unfair in this instance

Perfect example of why everyone questions if you're a troll or not

Go figure.

Could have had Wilson in the third instead of reaching for Tannehill

You might find yourself happy with Tannehill, jlyell. You might not be willing to say the same thing at the end of this season.

First of all not everyone questions if I'm a troll. Just a few wackos that like to follow me around looking for a fight.

Second, if you can't admit that this front office's first choice was some bad decisions at QB, then I can't help you. Obviously, you are wearing some aqua and orange goggles.

Reality is, this front office has been horrible in getting talent. This will become evident in the regular season. We are on a course for perpetual mediocrity.

This front office IS horrible at getting talent and what's much worse, they seem to be CLUELESS about evaluating the talent in front of them.

That may be true but you don't get any Ws for "not drafting or hiring" the misses ... we'll give hikm kudos when we see the ones we bring in be successful.

Hoping RT is the guy. The time to have gotten a replacement was a lot of years ago.

I think the reports from people like Jason Cole and others during the time before Flynn was signed, was that Miami offered Matt Flynn a contract before Seattle, but Miami wasnt willing to overpay for him and Seattle did... SO had Flynn accepted the offer he would have been a Dolphin...WHich wouldnt have matter as much if he sucked becasue he wasnted a big cap hit... Ultimately I dont think you can bash Ireland for Flynn, he played it right...if Flynn was on our team he would be making Matt Moore money...

I am not so sure Chyren, I think they had their eyes set on Tannehill, which is why Flynn was offered #2 Qb money. I even think it is possible that if we signed Manning we still would have drafted Tannehill.

Ireland, et al, haven't done a bad job, but not real good, either.

Take a look at the roster, as it stands right now -- there are no superstars.

The Fins used to get superstars all the time.

Hopefully, Tanney will be the first for this organization, with many to follow.

Flynn and Willson have been better than our QB, Wilson has been real impressive
