Draftees to Make team...

1st Round – Ryan Tannehill (QB, Texas A&M)
2nd Round – Jonathan Martin (OT, Stanford)
3rd Round – Olivier Vernon (DE, Miami)
3rd Round – Michael Egnew (TE, Missouri)
4th Round – Lamar Miller (RB, Miami)
5th Round – Josh Kaddu (OLB, Oregon)
6th Round – B.J. Cunningham (WR, Michigan State)
7th Round – Kheeston Randall (DL, Texas)
7th Round – Rishard Matthews (WR, Nevada)

Projected--

Starters: Tannehill, Martin
Backups: Vernon (2nd string), Miller, Egnew, Randall (2nd string)

Practice Squad: Cunningham, Matthews, Kaddu

I think that 3 years from now we will look back and see that this was an excellent draft class. Also, believe that some of the un-drafted free agents will make the final 53 cut: Shelby, Fuller, Samuda...

I think Kaddu can make the 53, in part because our LB depth is very weak.

I'd say cut your losses with Egnew very early. Crazy talk now but might not seem so crazy at the end of next year.

People will be asking the same thing they are asking about Daniel Thomas.

He (Egnew) still has time to pick it up. I doubt he starts any time soon but he still may get better.

I feel bad for the kid but he did better in the game after TE coach screamed in his face.

There's still time.

This weeks game will show what kind of character this team has...To see how they bounce back.

They are on Egnew's butt because they think he can become a player. I really like the fact that they are so complimentary of Shelby. That is quite a coup when you can get a good DE after the draft is over.

This draft will depend on Tannehill. Yes the other guys show promise, but if Tannehill doesn't pan out then the draft will be seen as a failure. Fortunately, Tannehill looks like he has the goods too.

A solid draft I think Ireland did a good job. I thought they got greedy w/ Egnew we did not really need him and from what I read it seems like this kid just does not get it.

TY Hilton, Alshon Jeffrey, Reuben Randle have all been doing well this preseason.

I think Jeffrey is going to do well as the 3rd WR in Chicago. Marshall and Cutler looked good last night. Thats for sure.

From what I have been reading/seeing, Egnew is on the verge of being cut. Hasn't played well at all.

Thats OK. Ireland will draft another worthless TE next year.

You know the funny thing is, SamSam, how POOR a talent evaluator Ireland is. Every expert said that the Egnew pick was a head-scratcher in the 3rd round.

Had we not picked him, I wonder in what round he would have been picked.

And then we're surprised when he doesn't make it?

Man...we guess, we speculate, we have no idea....but Ireland is paid to know....He fits these words better than us. More of the same....assessing talent appears to be like nailing Jello to the wall for him. However, I'm not upset about the cuts so far. The dead wood needs to go. Maybe we'll get lucky and keep someone who actually performs. You know like--WRs need to run a pattern and "catch the ball."
