NOT a knock on Tanny......I like him, but the pick we should have made at that juncture was Ryan Mallet. Thomas sucks.
Treasure, Mallett has done nothing in the pros to show he's going to be a good player. I think he'd be terrible on this team. There are many mistakes this FO has made we can point to more worthy than that. Tannehill is going to have a much much better career than Mallett. Plus if we took Mallett last year he'd be a waste here since he is the opposite of a WC QB

I was thinking the same thing but not as a joke. The fact is the NFL moves qb's to wr all the time, brad smith, antwann randle el, josh cribbs, brian mitchell, armani edwards (just off the top of my head but this list goes on...) So why would you not convert a guy that unlike the guys on this list not only HAS experience at the wr position he as several recieving records at A&M... I would move him and draft logan thomas out of V-tech next year since we will suck.
I agree sam that you should not go crazy over preseason games but when you line up your ones verse another teams ones and you get dominated on both sides of the ball for the second week in a row yes i am concerned... It is not just tannehill since i feel that all of these guys are professional and can preform, i am more concerned about the men behind the mask. Our coaching staff since we are getting KILLED on defense and our line is not looking like they are not able to pick up the blitz consistently, getting bull rushed and tannehill getting what like 3 passes batted out of his first like 12 attempts, honestly i have never seen that before. I am just concerned from top to bottom jmo... maybe they need time to gel, i hope next week i see just a glimmer of hope, i dont ask for much, just a glimmer lol...
Yeah Thomas sucks, get real. We don't have a good RB on the team right now...period. None of them have been effective. This is simply because we don't have any blocking. Once we can create holes and get some push we won't know.
Thomas led all rookie RB's last year and he sucks, Bush had the best season of his career last year and he sucks too...you guy's just kill me.

This happens everytime when we lose a game ken.
I think some of the people heres world will end when tannehill throws the first pick.
Get ready for this board and the fireworks when the season starts and we struggle.
We did had one good run by the backups last night that went for like 8 yards when it could had gone for 60 yards.....But one of them fat pigs
DL men from carolina tripped him and the retarded college refs did not call it.
Mallet? Seriously? He is still 3rd string behind a nobody. Thomas isn't the problem it's the line and it's preseason. Didn't he score a TD? Give me a break.
I don't want to insult anyone's intelligence but when you evaluate a player you can only criticize him if your criticism passes this simple test......did his failure in the play result from his own shortcoming or did the rest of the elements of the team that were supposed to give him an even chance to make the play fail him.
When I judged Tannehill by these standards, he did fine.
Same with Reggie Bush. When he had daylight, he broke it. When they were in his grill, there was nothing he could do.
It occurred to be that Daniel Thomas' performance was mixed.
You know, he does not have a helluva lot of shiftiness or speed. If power was his calling card in the draft then I don't know.
But I advocated getting Mallett in last year's draft but with what we have now, we don't need him.
Would we have needed him last year? That's another question.
But that's just like asking what would have happened if Thomas Jefferson had won the election against John Adams for the second presidency instead of winning it, as he did, for the third presidency.
I don't know berk. I was talking about Tannehill vs. Mallett. On Danny Thomas......I don't see it yet with respect to the Lebanese but if I'm going to cut Tannehill slack for his performance behind the same line then I at least have to NOT COME DOWN on Danny Thomas.
But performing under the same pressure, I'll say this, I'm not worried about Tannehill as some are but I am definitely worried about Danny Thomas.
I at least see clear natural ability in RT. He can move and throw on a rope. I don't see anything thomas does well, and for a RB drafting in the 2d round that's disappointing

I haven't forgotten what I saw of a healthy Daniel Thomas early last year. He seemed to be a beast until he got hurt. I think he has the talent, but he needs so decent oline play.
