Is it time to tell my Larry Csonka story again? I met Larry at a signing and mentioned to him that my brother is Howard Twilley(that actually is my brother's name and in a roundabout way, it is the reason I became a Dolfan). After mentioning that he stopped and took a long hard inquisative look at me. At that point, I confessed he wasn't the same Howard as the one he played with. He then said to me,"I was going to say that you are too pretty to be Howard's brother." I told him that was the first time anyone ever called me pretty. He replied, "You obviously haven't seen Howard before."
So, not to sound gay(not that there is anything wrong with that. Seinfeld), but Hogan seemed a little bit of a pretty boy, so I don't think Larry would agree that he reminds him of Howard.

Chris Hogan caught 12 passes in college. Howard Twilley led the nation in receptions, yards, and TDs as both a junior and senior, setting the all time NCAA records for all 3 categories (at the time) each year. We are talking about 1964-65, a running era, and Twilley caught 229 passes for over 2900 yards, with 29 TDs over two seasons. He was a runner-up for the Heisman as a senior. So, no, Chris Hogan does not remind me of Howard Twilley in any way.

Yeah but how are his teeth? (Twilley had a gap in his teeth that would make David Letterman proud)
Howard Twilley was one of my favorite players when I was a kid, because he wasn't flashy, wasn't the center of attention, but got the job done. His TD in Super Bowl VII was huge. Brilliantly executed play.
does Hogan play special teams? return kicks? if not he doesn't deserve to be on the roster unless he actually shows he can catch in a game. I thought I remebered early on hearing he was doing well as a returner but recently I have not heard he is listed on the depth chart as doing that.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
They need to play him tonight just to see. With him being deemed "7-11" and if we cut him and he ends up being in the Pro Bowl or Honorable Mention on another team, we're gonna look awful stupid. NOW IS THE TIME TO SEE IF HE CAN ACTUALLY WORK AGAINST COMPETITION FIGHTING FOR A JOB ON THEIR TEAMS!
He reminds me (not physically) of when Welker was starting to make a name for himself in camp. Greg Camarillo and Davon Bess as well. They received a lot of attention through the media because they were consistent in camp.
I bet he will see some action this week in the first half.
He has obviously caught Philbin's eye so they will work him in.

Howard was a different era. Today he may have had 12 receptions, and how mnay have had 60 and can't get 12 in the NFL?
As said, no blazing speed, but gets open. If he can haul in big plys like the late one last night(I actually thought defender had hiis left arm) , he could be better than most of the others we had.
he, matthews and Fuller looked the best last night. Not sure Naanee is that much better than any of the others.
Should give up a third for Wallace a proven deep threat
Yeah, jlyell, but we need to keep the chains moving. Maybe slow and prodding but still making the red zone on almost every drive wouldn't be a bad thing.
Jlyell, guess why our red zone efficiency was so bad? When we'd get there, out would come the regular offense and in would come the WILDCAT! WILDCAT! WILDCAT! Then....
1st down WILDCAT, no gain,
2nd down WILDCAT, two yards,
3rd down put back in Chad Henne and tell him "You will prove yourself to be a terrible quarterback if you don't throw for a first down in the red zone on 3rd and 8."
