Did you see him drop (actually it went through his hands)that third down pass on the first series that resulted in our trying and missing a field goal? He can't talk like you're a prima donna and then do a Brandon Marshall.

If i had a choice between the 2 i would keep brandon marshall anyday. Brandon Marshall is kind of a troublemaker as well but he is nothing compared to 85....

Did you see him on hard knocks on the interview? Is that anyway to represent your organization?

Im glad that clown is cut. I really didnt want him to occupie a roster spot and the phins would cut a receiver with some potential for the future.

Chads days are numbered in the NFL.

I agree completely! BM also proved his value on the field (remember, he was the MVP of the Pro Bowl!). 85 hasn't done much of anything for several years. So, if they're BOTH trouble makers, I pick the one that actually produces SOMETHING positive!

I agree with what Philbin said. It was obvious Chad was not the right fit and its best to move on and develop the young talent we have as opposed to trying to resurrect the career of a has-been.

It’s pretty obvious Chad Johnson has some significant “issues” and he’s certifiably operating in “self-destruct mode.” So why waste time?

I didn’t like the signing to begin with but gave him the benefit of the doubt. He missed the mark in a number of ways. End of story.

Last, it’s pretty pathetic a few “team members” are kind of supporting the guy. I mean the franchise gave that clown the OPPORTUNITY to make the team and contribute and all he can do is bring stupid attention to himself and drop key passes.

Marshall is a disease. It's GOOD that he's gone.

As far as his production -- I think he's seriously overrated and drops way too many key catches (specifically in the endzone).

I want football players not head cases.

But the question is if you had no choice but to make a choice between marshall and 85 who would you pick?

What will be most telling is if someone signs him and if they do, then does he play well. I don't see that happening.

OH yeah I remember that. MVP of the PRO BOWL! That was the game where nobody tried to cover or tackle anyone, right? Then BM racks up the stats and craps on his own team's quarterback (I'm talking about his real team at the time, the Miami Dolphins). I don't call that producing something positive. I call it producing poison in the Miami Dolphins locker room.

In cames that *counted*, IMO BM did *not* prove his value on the field, unless we value a lot of dropped passes.

I like the cut. It shows that players can't do and say whatever they want and keep thier jobs. There are consiquences and I'm glad Philbin seems to really mean what he says with regard to plyer conduct.

As far as cutting our best WR, I wouldn't care if CJ was the single best WR in the league...he should be required to toe the line, wherever the team draws it...or else, just like everyone else. Giving star players preferential treatment is and always has been complete BS.

the fact that CJ sucks and was totally washed up makes the decision easier

It is getting old reading about all of the NFL arrests. Should be a 2 strikes and your out rule for volient offenders....FOR EVERYONE. It's a privealge not a right.

It certainly would make these young players think twice about acting stupid. Especially if they had to forfeit or payback money after violent incidents.

and what is up with Dansby's comments? I get the loyalty side of it but it doesn't mean much from a guy with his "less than professional" atitude. (showing up as a vet 35 lbs overweight) I am starting to like him less and less. He needs to shut up until he steps up.

Agreed on Dansby. The Miami Dolphins didn’t have to give CJ an opportunity yet they did. So what does Johnson do? He embarrasses himself and the organization on national TV with his bizarre “media showcase,” subsequently gets all weirded-out, drops 3rd down catches and then…headbutts his wife.

I mean good golly. Such freaking CLASS!
How could Philbin possibly throw that trash out?

Yo Dansdy. STFU! If you don’t like the climate get your shit out of town.
You need to start playing like someone worthy of big bucks because
I think you’re a highly overrated turf turd!

Ha!

SamSam and Montequi, answering the question as to which one would we cut if we HAD TO CHOOSE between Bowel Movement and Ocho A---ole, is like forcing us to say whether we would rather die by poison by either drinking a potion containing arsenic or cyaninide?

Come on. What's the point in that question?

You want an answer? I'd cut them both.

Ocho A---ole only has the edge because, as JC pointed out, he has not crapped on his own teammates while dropping FOUR touchdowns in the endzone as did Bowel Movement.

Mr "I'm open"...0 catches 1 drop

Pruitt 6/52
Wallace 4/71
Clay 3/49/1 td
Egnew 2/37 (we found Waldo)

So who needs him. I like Pru and Braveheart.

I agree that Dansby needs to stop flapping his gums and concentrate on playing his position better (the one that he stated he was the best in the league at). Judging from the first team defense's performance against TB, the last thing on Dansby's mind should be whether Johnson deserved to be cut or not. Hey, Karlos, why don't you try and figure out how you guys let Dan Orlovsky (wikipedia him if you have to Karlos) complete all of his attempts. Until you do that, I'd prefer to get the opinion of players like Jake Long or Cam Wake who at least do some of their talking on the field.

As Chad Cero was leaving for the night, Matt Moore asked, "Hey Chad what are you going to do on your day off?" Chad joked, "I don't know, but my wife's head will be open."

For all the crap that is talked on this board about Brandon Marshall, it makes you wonder why a highly respected organization like the Chicago Bears would want to sign him.

Clearly the Bears front office should have researched phins.com prior to making a deal for the 3 time Pro Bowl wide receiver.

I would have thought watching his play and checking his record, both on and off the field, would have been enough to discourage them. My guess if they will wish they had checked this forum.

Want to take bets on whether or not Marshall plays out his entire contract in Chicago?

Yeah, I'd say you're right. The Bears probably did no research whatsoever. That organization reaching two conference championship games and a Super Bowl in the past five years was probably just blind luck.

chren iam so glad they were both cut. I do not want either as well..

I was just asking who would you choose if you had no choice but to pick one.

I would say marshall because chad johnson IMHO is even worst because he doesnt even respect this organization in the interviews been a jerk and all the profanity.

They are both garbage i agree.

But lets say your life depended on it and you had to pick one.

Who will you choose?

Im sure eveyone agrees with me on this one.

PS. They are both garbage but chad is just even worse.

Want to take bets on Marshall's production versus any wide receiver of your choice on the Dolphins roster?

Who said the Bears are such a “respected org?”

I think they’re betting on two head cases (Marshall + Cutler) cancelling each other out, but the odds are they implode sooner than later!

Dolphaholic, the Bears organization has been to two NFC championship games and a Super Bowl in the past 5 years. I would say that's decent, wouldn't you?

Chicago has drafted a "decent" nucleus I guess; Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Devin Hester, Matt Forte...

Dolphaholic, just so you know, the Chicago Bears have more Hall of Fame players than any franchise in NFL history.

They also have the most wins of any franchise.

But I'm glad you found my post to be funny.

Having a decent run and being a "highly respected organization" are two totally different things, ever hear of Curtis Enis, Cade McNown, Cedric Benson and Rex Grossman just name a few?
