With Chad Cero now gone, what receivers make the team.

As Chad Cero was leaving for the night, Matt Moore asked, "Hey Chad what are you going to do on your day off?" Chad joked, "I don't know, but my wife's head will be open."

I think our WRs are going to be fine. At least, I don't think they will be a major liability. We'll see, I could be totally wrong. Especially if Hartline doesn't make it back. But, the WCO offense is about spreading the field and creating one on one matchups. It's almost always 5 guys into the pattern, and that makes it difficult to double guys. Bess is still going to be doing the same things he has always done, finding spots in zones underneath. I think he'll put up his normal numbers. Hartline has shown he can be a 40-50 catch guy (43 catches in 12 games in 2010). Legedu Naanee had 44 catches last year in Carolina. We are going to throw the ball to the TEs a lot more than we have in recent years. Fasano has put up decent numbers, but we've rarely thrown to a 2nd TE the last few years. That is going to change this year, and I think Clay is going to catch 40+ passes. And we'll throw the ball to the backs out of the backfield more, too. As long as one of the young WRs steps up to be a 30 catch guy, I think we'll be fine.

I think this is the first time I have ever quoted myself. After watching Hard Knocks, I think my prediction about Hogan making the team is more than a hunch.
CJ was always complaining he is always open but rarely was.... Hogan is always open.
I doubt Fuller makes it to the practice squad. Someone will pick him up. By the same token, there are probably better receivers out there on a deeper team that will be released. Maybe we get lucky and improve our depth.

Sounds great...maybe he'll be #1 receiver one day soon and the receiving corps will be known as "Hogan's Heroes"

I'm not so sure eesti.
Seems like everyone gets a look with the first unit to some degree now that Johnson is gone.
First it was Wallace, then Moore, now fuller.
I think it's all part of their evaluation process.
Wouldnt surprise me to see Cunningham or Wallace or hogan get a turn this week as well.

Those are quotes from practice reports not my opinion.
