Crowder, it's funny how you spent months worrying about "poor Mr. Ross's billions" during the lockout, now if the guy stands up to wipe his ass, you point out how he should stay seated, so his slacks don't fall in the pee dribble in front of the toilet. Like I said.....lighten up Francis

The media excels at shoveling bullsh*t. Doesnt mean it was a meaningful statement.

Honestly Who cares what the owner says.

It puts unwarranted pressure on Tannehill. The last thing he needs. He's gonna have a lot of that already.

I guess you misunderstood my position either that or you are trying mischarecterize my support..Even when I argued on behalf of the owners in the CBA negotiation, I always stressed I was no fan of the owenr... I think you need to go back, and re look.. My position was that the Dolphins were in horrible financial shape, and still are.. So we needed relief in the new CBA more then any other organization... I ultimately worried that it isnt good for the organization, to be in that bad of finacial shape.. It didnt matter about the owner. I am a DOlphins...
But I challenge you to show me where I have ever been a fan or worried about Mr Ross... He is a moron...

You are exactly correct CHyren... Why put that on the kid as well.. Nothing good comes out of that statment, other then self loathing BS. A devlopmenal project QB, drafted early, who needs more experience and learning. In a town QB starved for over decade on the young kids first day in the building during his introduction to the media, you say in front of everybody that you look forwards to retiring the jersey, you are giving him one day... great.... What does that mean to anybody? other then BS.

And every pass he throws that is UN-Marino like will bring howls and hoots from the fans and cries of "Give that jersey to the Waterboy. He'll do better with it."

I'm trying to look out for Tannehill here.

I'm pretty sure billionaire Stephen Ross couldn't f!#ng care less what a bunch of nobodies on a fan forum think about his media skills. He's done more in his life already than all of us put together ever will; if he wants to say "I hope we retire this jersey one day" then that's fine... he should say it.

It may or may not come true, but that's fine. People really ought to quit over-reacting and nit-picking everything the man says. None of it affects the W/L record on the field, which is all most of us really care about. I, for one, wouldn't care if Ireland, Ross and Philbin all showed up for work in Bozo the Clown suits, if we have a winning season, make the playoffs and win a SuperBowl. :-)

Well, at least Ross isn't a drunken tweet whore like Irsay. I think he beats out Ross in the idiot owner category.

Speak for yourself, If you are a nobody i feel sorry for u. But no need to make yourself feelgood by putting everyone else in the same category that you see yourself in... Maybe try a little harder in life..

I feel you Dr. Feelgood but the problem is not that they dress like Bozo but, particularly given their actions in treating the vets days before the draft, the problem is that they ACT LIKE Bozo the Clown.

In relative terms what Ross said was not on the same level as Ryan guaranteeing the SB. Now THAT was dunce cap stupid in hindsight when you don't deliver. Welcoming your new QB with a pat on the back and a vote of confidence is rather benign in comparison.

Wow, its amazing how differently events (in this case this short media comment) affects people.

Crowder and others I suppose are all-in pissed over it.

I saw it live or maybe a replay. When I saw it, I paused and thought, a bit funny to hear now ... but what the hell at least he's trying to be positive.

Again, if you didn't want Ryan and you have gone on record that you hate Ireland and Ross I can see how you'd also not want to hear him say this. More salt in the wound.

I read it that Ross was trying to do 3 things with his comment:

1. Welcome Tannehill and express confidence in him - publically
2. Back up and repair some damge control over criticism to Ireland
3. Paint a picture for the fans to get behind.

I think its a glass half empty or glass half full scenario as how you see it. Ross may be full of BS, but who gives a hoot about how football smart an owner is? Like Jerry Jones, if he's wrong people will blow it off.

One other reason I think is in there is that Ross likely feels responsible for the fact that Ireland shouldered all the blame from the fans and media, for having kept the draft / FA plan close to the vest ... amidst the loss of Manning, not taking Flynn etc., when that was the whole mgmt team was behind it all along.

I think expressing some support for the choice shows that Ireland wasn't the only one in on it from the beginning.

Anyway, not significant enough to get my undies in a bunch over.
