God please no.

We should trade down and adquire picks in next years draft......to have ammunition to move up to the first slot if needs be.

We might not need to move up as we could end up with the first pick overall...There are other teams that might be worst than us....But none of them have the QB situation we have.

We have no QB to start this year. I mean someone worthy of a starting spot. Only 2 scrubs.

this is so crazy to think we'd actually consider trading up to #3 to get this guy.

LOL. All a smoke screen.

But, I guess it could come true. The funny thing is, they dont have a single decent RB or WR on the roster.

Yet, they are going to be in a position to get Richardson or Blackmon and pass on them?

Now, it is not in Holmgren's M.O to draft a WR in the 1st round.

But Trent looks to be a lock to Cleveland.

I'd play their bluff, (unless Sherman/Philbin are creaming their jeans over this guy) and if Cleveland takes him, they take him. It makes no sense to trade up to #3 for Tannehill while not paying a little extra to go to #2 for RG3/Luck.

If he gets past Cleveland though, I wouldn't rest to easy that he'll be there at #8, (especially if Cleveland takes Blackmon, they could swing a deal with the Rams if Tannehill's still there at #6) plus whatever other teams that could try to jump us. If they're sold on him, i'd be willing to move up a spot or two to ensure getting him, not too crazy about all the way to #3 though.

I would normally laugh at this except for ....

The ridiculous amount of pressure & whining both fans and even some on this board have tried to put on the FO over thier hysteria over whether we landed Peyton Manning, or Harbaugh, or Flynn means they are a bad team or bad GM / Owners.

1. I simply hope that they stick to their plan. If they all along think that Tannehill hung the moon (which I doubt) then do what you need to do.

I hope it means they select a quality play at the 8th pick value or even drop down and get what they want and add a pick

2. Moving up to 4th to me seems RIDICULOUS. I personnally see us taking Tannehill or Blackmon or DE, Tackle whatewver ... get a starter!

Please please please do not move up! We need to stick to the plan and build quality picks

move up for RG3 or Luck, sure. They showed a ton in college and seem like sure things. but to move up almost as far for a guy who really is a roll of the dice based on his limited experience is just too stupid for words. this seems totally fabricated to get someone to move up (CLE and MIN are loving these stories) I really hope we don't fall for it. But...we might. Ireland doesn't want to go 0-4 on QBs this offseason (Tannehill was the absolute fall back)

From what I have seen Tannehill has just as much potential as Luck and RG3. No one has any idea how these guys will turn out but if you feel Tannehill has the makings of a franchise quarterback you trade up and don’t look back.

Tannehill has abilities that only franchise quarterbacks possess which include accuracy, a quick release, mobility / speed, size, and arm strength. He really is in the same mold of Aaron Rodgers. Just imagine how good this guy can be after working with Philibin and gaining more game experience.

I say trade up to #3 and get your Franchise Quarterback. I’m sick of watching backups every year.

Mayock said Tannehill is easily a top 10 pick.

Cleveland will take Tannehill at #4. Guaranteed.

You will regret that statement when in 5 years, Tannehill is one of the top 5 QB's, and we still have a journeyman.

This hype is not very helpful.

But, for everything that we have come to know about Jeff Ireland...
Do You Really Think He Would Trade Up?

No way. He is more likely to trade down then up. When he has moved up in the draft he has not over-paid in value.

Chyren,

I guess the same lack of experience that Cam Newton had (13 starts) hurt him as well.

I guess you are right.

So now you are to the point of hype where you are saying Tannehill is gonna be a top 5 QB in the NFL...wow

He played at UF, got snaps and was impressive, got in trouble, won a juco national championship, then won a National championship, and Heisman, while under the most scrutiny and dram surrounding him.... and he took home all the glory despite, in the SEC, the toughest conference in football.. SO now Tannehill is the same as Cam Newton.... when is this hype gonna stop... you guys have no idea what this guy is gonna do, you are all sold on hype... I am not,

Tannehill has ALL of the skills, athletic ability, intelligence, intangibles, potential, and growth potential, that you could reasonably ask, or dream for.

If we trade up for him then he was the concensus staff choice ALL ALONG. At this point I wouldn't go higher than #6 to get him but the market could change as it seems to be doing right now...and we would then be required to change with it if we want him.

I agree that he has every bit, the skills of a Griffin minus just a bit of athletisim and speed, he even has areas where he's better than Luck.

So, bottom line, if he's the guy we want we have to go get him.

I for one, will not fault the coaching staff for getting a player they feel we need. Even though I'd much rather get him at #8 so we could use our picks for depth and additional starters.

Either way though, I want him on our team.

Imbecillic post, really.

MOORE was rated the 12th best QB in the NFL last season, despite having no pre-season to speak of (so no timing and/or "chemistry" w/his receivers), and having COLUMBO-CAREY guarding (HA!!!) his right side, and having the lingering STENCH of PARCELLSBALL, and having an unready HC in charge. Despite ALL that, he's the 12th best QB in the League, and leads MIAMI to a 5th ranking in pass completions of 20+ yards. When was the last time THAT happened here???

MOORE, i/m/o, can become an elite QB: he has all the "tools", and the "intangibles" that separate topshelf QBs from good ones. He's CERTAINLY better thatn T DILFER ever was/dreamed of being. And DILFER has something that even MARINO doesn't: a SB Championship Ring.
