I watched Mcshay say an hour ago, that Cleveland should defnitely take Tannehill, if not his parachute pick is Miami at 8...
I also watched a break down of Blackmon, and he seems like a perfect fit for Philbin's system if he were to fall to us..
He was described as a great route runner, not really big, a more complete WR then Dez bryant, self less. likes to block, be a decoy, and all around great team player... His character is his strongest suit...

No not a problem at all....You even quoted who it was, so I know you weren't passing it off as your own material.

I just like the original site to get the credit and hits (hence the link request) because hits drive a website.

Thanks

All those guys that were mentioned could end up as busts. Haven't we all seen those "sure thing" LBers, DEs, etc., end up playing behind someone else, released, or traded away because it turns out they weren't as good as everyone thought them to be? Granted, QBs are also a gamble (Leaf), but teams that are in need of one must, at times, take a gamble. This year the gamble would be Tannehill.

Now, you mentioned Moore, et al, can play until Miami finds the next Dan Marino. There aren't too many of those around. Out of this year's QBs, Luck is the only one who may be that guy. So, do we just ignore the QB position until the 2nd round (like Miami has been doing for the last few years), or does our brass go out there and take that chance that Tannehill may just be the guy?

How long do you guys want the organization and its fans to wait until the next Dan Marino comes up in the draft? About the only way that can happen is if Miami finishes with the worst record in the NFL and that guy just happens to be sitting there at #1 for Miami to draft. First off, Miami isn't going to finish this upcoming season with the worst record, and second, another Dan Marino won't be there in next year's draft. Barkley is no Marino!

So, if Miami doesn't draft Tannehill at 8 (if he is still there), then we fans will just have to continue on and hope that the 2nd or 3rd tier QB that Miami drafts comes around and surprises everyone.

Sorry, I say if Tannehill is there, Miami must draft him.

Casinos love gamblers, why ? "Because they lose" ! Don't gamble on Tannehill, odds are it's a loser at #8. I would rather the team pick a player with better odds for sure. The two QB's we have now are better than Tannehill. The only reason he is climbing the charts is that its all hype. He has no stats to prove he is even QB draft material in my opinion. Look at his stats and tell me this is a first round pick. I hope the Browns get him to save us from another "reaching" embarrassment. Tannehill is worthy a 4th round or later pick. Where was Tannehill months ago on the QB draft board ?????? And now you want to waste a 1st round pick on him ? If you want to gamble on a QB, do it in the late rounds.

What you are suggesting is EXACTLY what we've been doing for for 10 YEARS! 'ANOTHER REACHING' Embarrassment?? Not at QB brother. Name me the QB's we've 'reached' for in round 1? I would say the 'embarrassment' is passing on Brees, Ryan and Rogers in the last 8 years, drafting linemen and ending up with a combined .432 winning percentage to show for it.

The team needs impact players now.Tannehill is years away. Having a great combine is no substitute for the real thing. Remember Vernon Gholston who had a "great combine" who then rocketed up the draft boards ? This is the same situation. If you want the next Tom Brady, the dolphins need to find him with their own scouts and not be swayed by the sports writers touting Tannehill is a top 10 pick ! The Dolphins are great at poor drafting. You can thank the front office for all the free agency misses and draft failures. I have seen no evidence this offseason to indicate that the Phins have a clue to what they are doing.

Look Rick seriously Tannehill, has all the intagibles, and right team set up in Miami.

Yes we don't have Marshall anymore, however our new offense will be set up where we don't need Marshall.

Don't get me wrong I wish we had a Elite WR, however we will be ok this year because of our offense.

I would bank on that if Tannehill was selected and won the competition to become our starter that not only would he have a solid year, but he would be considered for the pro-bowl.

If the Gay ass Brown's or horrible Geek-Hawks draft this kid, then he will go on to have a very unsuccessful career.

Actually, it's the sports writers who are downplaying Tannehill. It's the guys with actual knowledge of football talent (Brandt, Polian, Cosell, Mayock, etc) who are touting him as a possible top 5 pick.

Like I said in another post. Due to the team's these QB's are going too.

I would guarantee that Tannehill will go on to have a more successful NFL career playing in Miami, than Luck on the Colt's and RG111 for the Redskin's.

Yes unfortunatly do to circumstance's, we have to use the 8th overall pick on him, however if he is going to be our QB for the next decade plus, then I don't really care if we spend our 8th pick on him, nor would I care where we landed him.

I feel too many people put to much stock in the draft pick it's self.

It's about what player you want most, and if he is the one, then you get him regardless.

Marino was an unkonwn qty. I mean if they knew he was gonna be DAN MARINO he would have went #1 right? It's all a gamble but you gotta play if your ever gonna win. Think about it in 1983 we had a fairly young QB that has just taken us to the Superbowl. Yet Don Shula drafts ANOTHER QB low in the first round. You guys would have crucified him.

I agree we need impact players. But not every position is equal as to the impact a good player will have. Carey and especially Long and Pouncey are very good linemen, drafted in the first round with our first pick. But at their position they have had little 'Impact' on our teams fortunes (bottom third of NFL in offense).

Hanging our hat on finding a Tom Brady in the lower rounds is like depending on making my mortgage payments by winning today's Mega Millions. Yea for every first round hit there are probably 3-4 busts but for every 6th round hit (Brady) there are 1000 Chad Hennes. I'm to old, I don't have that long spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

You gotta take the chance when you have it.

You know that I don't mind being wrong about Tannehill. If he were to land in Miami, I would hope for the best that he will be very successful in Miami. I just dont like taking chances with the number one pick when you have a better chance of picking up a impact player. No guarantee on any given player but I would like better odds. A 100 to one sounds better than a 1,000 to one grinning smiley

Jamar Fletcher, Jason Allen, Ronnie Brown (#2!), the list could go on and on. We botch first rounders far more often than draft a pro bowl caliber talent at them.

I hope that the Browns grab him first. There is no QB worth a 1st after Luck and RG3. I do all the hiring here at our company for the last 30 years. When I was younger, at times I would hire a unqualified person based on "potential" or "work ethic". Not once do I recall it working out for the company or the employee. People with the experience, talent and resume to back it up have worked out much better than the people with "potential". Thats life ! The Dolphins will have to wait because the front office is not making the right choices to bulid a winner. Show me something ???????

at #2 overall, absolutely
a RB taken in the top 10 better be Adrian Peterson. Brown didn't even start on his own college team.

Almost the entire 1st round of that draft was a bust. Remember, Alex Smith was #1 and Braylon Edwards was #3. Would you have rather we took one of those guys? Sure Aaron Rodgers was in that draft, but he was flying WAY below the radar. We would have been raked over the coals if we took him at #2.
