Well, I certainly understand why fans are upset in my first 30 years of being a Dolphin fan we played in 4 Super bowls winning 2, had 19 playoff appearances, 12 division titles and only knew 2 losing seasons. Now only 1 playoff game and 2 winning seasons in EIGHT years. Ugh. BUT, the long and short of it is Ross owns the team and he is making this mess. If we love the Phins we'll just have to deal with it till he sells or gets good people and LETS THEM DO THEIR JOB.

They are lucky I'm way North of them. I wouldn't protect them.

Yea because we really attract those quality free agents now.. What can it hurt at this point, who wants to play here under this leadership..
This will rank right up there on ESPN with the morons booing Henne in the preseason last year. Really don't need to feed the East Coast biased media more ammo. Morons!

You kidding? They hired a Plane to fly around the Stadium stating to Fire the Guy. They rented BillBoards stating to bring manning to South Florida. people spent alot of money on this shit that could have went towards season Tickets. Ross needs to stop the celebrity crap and get back to basics. Offer Jimmy Johnson the GM Job. See if Polian wants to get involved. But Irelend has become Poison.

I'm not picking on you TCPF (you're just the latest to say this) but why does everyone rag on Ross for this? Who really cares if he's trying to create a buzz in the stands? I get it that a winning product is what everyone really wants, but it's not like he's taking away resources from the football product to buy more Aqua & Orange carpets. You could argue that he hasn't made the right moves on the football side, but staring at J-Lo's ass in the suite has nothing to with that.
I'll tell you what my problem is with the celebrity crap. He's letting that celebrity crap mindset infect the football side of the business.
Ross is the one who wanted Harbaugh and Fisher, and courted them clumsily. Ross is the one who had his lackeys tell everyone that the team would 'beat any offer' for those guys, and floated to the media that Miami would 'do anything' to get Peyton Manning.
And then when all of those deals failed to go through, we get the basis for the current media $#!!storm.

People are going about it all wrong.
You want to effect a change...don't get 100 idiots outside the stadium lynching Jeff Ireland in effigy...
Go gather up all your Dolphins gear. All the hats. All the beer coozy's...anything you've ever purchased with the Miami team colors or logo on it and mail it to Steve Ross with your season ticket cancellation.
People have every right to demand change, but if you are going to do it, do it right.

I'm talking about the number of people, most of whom would be taking time off from work, going to attend a protest. It's hard enough to get people to attend the actual games.
Hiring a plane and making a billboard ad only takes a few people (who happen to have some spare $ to throw around).
Certainly people care. Look at us here on this board. We care (even the one(s) who are pretending to quit the team). But are thousands of fans who live in the area, going to ditch work/school/etc. to attend this? If so, I will be quite impressed.
I acknowledge that the fans have a right to their voice.
I think however they get worked up to expectations by the medai and are quite frankly pawns in the media game and not well informed.
The subject of this thread IMHO is childish and unrealistic ... just my opinion, but one that considers that the pundits who are so often wrong, suck people in and use their rage to justify thier inital position rather than logically looking at the facts.
That said - Power to the people for opinion, but let's dump the idiotic approach of this protest and speak intelligently. Add in a real dose of questioning what we read while were at it!

Its called Priorities. You tackle that crap after you have a winning product, not before. First thing he did was add the Celebrity owners instead of foucsing on winning. Say what you want about the redskins owner, That guy f**king Trys his best to WIN. Not just make money.
If Stephen Ross is going to change the perception that fans have about him, he needs to change the perception that everyone has about this Team.

I heard that at least 10 of them were parents forced into driving their teenagers to the event.
TO those that think the protest was ineffective, well I would disagree, every local and several national news outlets are covering it, all of the reporters and pundits, bloggers are tweeting about it, NFL network, And us here are talking about it as well.
Also remember 25 people, is more people then vote in most local elections and more people then have bought season tickets in 2 years...lol.
... To those that think it went unnoticed or was a futile effort, need a lesson in PR and marketing strategy...

RESPONSE: Your math does not work TT.
If there were fifteen people and 10 were parents, then there are only FIVE teenagers and thus more parents driving (not father and mother, one of whom is a passenger) than there are people being driven.
I guess the question is: what constitutes "effective"?
Is "effective" attracting negative media attention to a team that some say already has trouble signing free agents? No. As a Dolphin fan, that is not "effective".
Is "effective" doing something that will improve the team or improve support for the team? Yes. That is effective. Did this protest accomplish that? No way.
The only way you will hurt Ross is by boycotting games, merchandise etc.Hes a thick skinned business man, protests of this nature will be like water off a ducks back.but if money was being drained at an alarming rate by lost revenue then his ears would prick up like a pup at feeding time. The protest, all be it in thought,is a good thing for the future of the dolphins, really is just highlighting the problems with the front offices ineptness and putting it into the public glare and making the name of the miami dolphins look like a laughing stock.
Ireland has a terrible reputation around the NFL right now. It's evident as we have seen tweets from players, criticism by TV personalities, and grief from fans and sport journalist.
It's put up or GET OUT! for Jeff.
Our head coach is in a scary position. We are really going to see what he's made of this year.
On paper our team looks like crap and releasing Y Bell and trading B Marshall w/o any big pay off is very disturbing.
I felt better when we went into the season behind Trent Green and Ted Gin, Jr w/ Cam in 2007. (notice I said "when we went" not "during". That is still #1)
