I mean can we have screwed this up any worse? clearly we thought flynn was an upgrade or we never would have brought him in. but by trying to get cute by bringing in alex smith (NOT a good player in IMO) and David Freaking Garrard before signing Flynn, we showed him we don't think much of him and of course he is going to sign with a team that didn't rub his nose in the fact that it doesn't give a crap about how things look or how they are treating him
3 years 26 mm is not much money for a starting QB. We really screwed up, no way of spinning it. get read to spend this year and next's first rounder on a trade up for converted WR Ryan Tannehill, if we are lucky
Did anyone ever think that if Philbin thought Flynn was the answer we would have done whatever it takes? It is quite clear that we only wanted him at the right price which tells me the coaching staff was not that high on him.
again, SEA did not pay that much for flynn. philbin thought enough of flynn that we brought him in here and made a contract offer. if philibin thought enough of him to do that, how do you not close the deal? answer: if you are an incompetent buffoon like Jeff Ireland. No positive way to spin this. Now our "answer" at QB is to pray Manning (him again) goes to SF so we can overpay for Alex Smith---who is not even that good. I mean has the guy ever thrown for 15 TDs in a season??

Philbin knows Flynn as well as anyone -- which means he might also have most reason to believe he's not the answer. But man...this is wacky.
And we still have Cleveland out there ready, willing, and able to screw up what's left of Ireland's "Master Plan".
Meanwhile, Philbin is thinking, "I'm glad I just rented."

you are thinking 8 is reaching for Tennehill. News for you my friend, as everyone now knows mia is utterly desperate for a QB, we're gonna have to trade up to get him. I see CLE making it seem like they are hot for him at 4, and us giving up tons of high picks to Minn to get him at #3. You ready for that?????? I am not and am pretty sick about this team right now
Guy's we have zero idea what kind of an offer we made to Flynn. To speculate without details is pointless. There are so many variables that could have made Flynn choose Seattle over us.
To assume that the front office screwed up the deal is assinine without details.
The ONLY F/A QB left that's even remotely any good is Alex Smith...Hasslebeck sucks and is too old anyway, Gerrard is not good at all, Tebow (if he's traded or released) is a joke, and so is Orton.
If we can't sign Smith we have no choice but to go ahead with Moore and sign a rookie...Tannehill should be the choice @8 and the we should also draft Wheeden with our second.
We're simply going to have to find a long term solution at QB the hard way and that means drafting him.
Well until this team gets rid of Ireland...that's the way it's gonna ride. Smith won't sign here, and you all had better hope he doesn't sign in Denver and Manning to San Fran because I'm telling ya...
I'm convinced there's something "not right" with the Dolphins. It's easy to blame, Ross, Ireland, maybe the new HC. I get the sense, Miami is just not the right "place" for a lot of players.
I also suspect that Philbin was not all that keen on Flynn. If he was all that great a prospect, they would have been more noise about him. So, it's probably best that Flynn signed with Seattle.
You have to wonder how much worse things could get for this franchise. Even Adam Schecter boo-hooed the number of failures--all in a row. One could convincingly argue that Miami has assumed the former position of the LIONS--bottom franchise--the team to make fun of.
Honestly, I don't see us making the right moves to land a QB in FA or the draft. Pretty pathetic, I must admit.
According to Peter King, Flynn chose Seattle over Miami because he said the Seattle organization had a better "vibe" that in Miami. Said Miami was uptight and on pins and needles.
But Seattle was loose, relaxed, coaches were cool. And the total environment of the organization felt more upbeat than Miami.

That makes sense. Seattle wasn't dealing with the rejection of Peyton Manning that Miami felt. Now Flynn just added himself to that list of people rejecting this team and made the vibe here even worse.

Kind of hard to get good vibes wondering when the as%Ho&e who's interviewing you is going to inquire if your mother is a prostitute or not.

He also said that the offense in Seattle seemed more like the Green Bay offense he was used to. Remember, Sherman's system is not necessarily exactly what McCarthy had in Green Bay.
