He should hold on to it. It will probably be a collector's item....errr....do I mean Trivia question?

This too funny. Opening day is months away, and so much can happen with this roster until then. Some people are ready to go out and get voodoo dolls of Ross & Ireland already. When it's time to play the game, then I'll judge what the management has accomplished.
Nobody on this board knows who we'll draft or what free agents will be brought in until it's said & done. For all we know they might trade up to get Blackmon. Hell, I'd rather have him than Marshall any day of the week.

If we traded our eighth spot, and next years 3rd then we make out with Blackmon. It'll probably take one of this years 3rd however, maybe both of them now.
Omar Kelly's story on it said that both teams knew about the incident, and this deal had been in the works since the combine. Trouble sure seems to follow Brandon Marshall around. How about his incident during the season when the police were called because he refused to pay a taxi driver? But, for the Marshall apologists, it's never his fault. Dropped passes? That's because they aren't thrown by elite QBs. Battered women? They must be the problem. This guy is way more trouble than he is worth.
Mark Clayton is available. He'd be a huge pick up. I think the mock drafts will change now. I don't see us getting Riley Reiff anymore. We'll definitely bring in a tackle in Free Agency and draft WR. I don't believe we have a shot at Blackmon though and i wouldn't risk trading up for him, we need help at other positions as well

I did read that in an article this morning, thanks.
My new question is, if he was defending his wife who'd gotten injured, why would he get suspended?
I love the lawyer's statement. If you read it closely, he avoids any reference to MArshall throwing a punch, which is what he's accused of doing. He says his wife got a bottle thrown at here and the melee "continued outside." Yep, and that's where marshall threw a punch and hit a chick.

Well, he walked away from us with 35 million dollars in his pocket, so I suppose he can afford a good lawyer.

Marshall needs a good shrink as an expert witness for the defense.
In my own experience, I've had one or two "diva" type officers that proved to be good in somethings, great they thought, and were more trouble in the long run to organizational unity than their personal achievements. When the opportunity presented itself to move them to another assignment, that's what I did. I can appreciate the Dolphins cutting Marshall after weighing his true value to the team.
Still waiting for the "other shoe to drop." However, I surmise, that the Dolphins will not do anything until Manning makes a decision on a team. If he goes elsewhere, lots of teams will be in scramble mode to secure players than can help their team. It very well could result in the Dolphins being without a date for the big dance, so to speak.
Having lost a WR, that becomes a major personnel role to fill. Who will be left to select that can really bolster the offense--that's the BIG question. Timing is everything.
Matt More may very well be the starting QB this coming season.

I don't agree. I think it's two-fold.
1) Marshall says, "you get Flynn or Manning, or trade me." Ireland and Philbin say "you aren't dictating personnel moves to us and we are sick of your BS."
2) Getting Manning was unrealistic. And there is a real chance that we won't get Flynn. So, say that happened, we missed out on both. And now Manning would be disgruntled. And look at how disruptive he was in Denver when he was unhappy. An unhappy Brandon Marshall is not good to have around. So, they dumped him.
I really don't think any of the Marshall and manning thing is or ever was related.
Biggestest factors - Ongoing off field and locker room "its all about me" attitude, and no perceive3d need for the "super WR" by Philben & his system of spread it around.
Add in that we get 2 - 3rds and remove the distraction stuff and Philbin is a happy camper. Recnt issue was just an afirmation for Miami to accept the 2 3s instead of demaning a 2nd and a 3rd.
I do like having a marshall in the red zone, but he dropped a lot this year too. We'll be alright, we are already head and shoulders better in the coaching dimension!
great article. I could see us trading down in the first to get another second or third. We will want as many picks as possible so Philbin can get a lot of players that fit with his vision.
