That last possession they before the half was abysmal!

Not a Falcon fan at all, I just hate seeing crappy clock management!

and we are seriously considering hiring the atlanta OC? who failed as an OC here, and was fired by Ireland etc in 2008 when he was the TE coach? and did a middling at best job with Buffalo as HC?

this guy is the worst of all the retreads. I'd much rather Mike Sherman.

Mike Mularkey is killing the Falcons right now. His playcalling is atrocious. One of the worst I have ever, ever seen.

I'm very unimpressed with Mike White and Matt Ryan.
White is a terrible game time manager(reminds me of someone), and Ryan has a noodle arm and is thin on guts.
Glad we don't have either of them!

I think Mike Smith is the NFC version of Tony Sparano.

But he showed more promise the previous couple of years, didn't he?

At least that's what I kept reading on this board back then.

You know, the recurring "our drafts suck, we should have gotten XXXX" as a QB, in this case with the XXXX being Ryan.

So glad we took a perennial Pro Bowl LT over Ryan.
Anyone with half a football IQ knows it all starts up front, the foundation of any offense.

Yep! So Jacksonville hires him as HC. Go figure. Another 10 years of mediocrity for that team.

I agree with that philosophy...sort of.

For me its get a QB...then build from the line of scrimmage back.

Interestingly enough, if you look a the Super Bowl Winner the last 10 years, there aren't too many stud LT (top 15 pick) on the last team standing, in fact...there aren't any.

Green Bay - Chad Clifton (2nd round pick)
New Orleans - Jermon Bushrod (4th)
Pittsburgh - Max Starks (3rd)
NY Giants - David Diehl - (5th)
Indianapolis - Tarik Glenn (1st/#19)
Pittsburgh - Marvel Smith (2nd)
New England - Matt Light (2nd)
Tampa Bay - Roman Oben (3rd)
New England - Matt Light (2nd)
New England - Matt Light (2nd)

That, along with Ryan's post season struggles, has to make one wonder is LT is an overrated position in the NFL, and was the right move in the Long/Ryan draft to trade down multiple times adding many extra draft picks.
