For sure the price the Texans are asking is steep but, when you look at the number of 1st round busts that Grier has to his name so far it doesn't seem as daunting. Say if you could trade three of our recent 1st round picks, Iggy, Jackson and Tua for Watson, would you do it? Of course you would, and yet, We still have Iggy, Jackson and, Tua, Grier still has a job and, Watson will be taking anoth

That's right boys and girls. A Judge looked at the lack of evidence, interviewed all the "Victims" and was unimpressed. The Civil case was not dismissed but, also suffers from the lack of evidence. The fact that the entire case was driven by a lawyer/politician should have raised a red flag. At least the Judge saw through it even if many were shocked by the sheer number of "victi

214. Re: Irony
Minkah didn't leave Miami because of Flores, he left because he didn't want to waste his talent on a team that was tanking. Flores also didn't want to tank so they both saw eye to eye and will likely get along well on a team that goes all out to win.

Josh is the guy that took the HC job in Las Vegas. Our guy is Mike McDaniel but, Josh took the job in Denver a few years back. He also was super bright but, he was also super young and not taken seriously across the board.

The word on one of the streets had us targeting Daboll because of his familiarity with Tuna, there was also a lot of speculation that we were targeting Harbaugh. The red flags for me are his age, (leadership abilities), the fact that he doesn't call plays, (Philbin 2.0?). The fact that he was willing to accept a pretty much intact defense and QB. Coach McDaniel may surprise everyone and bring

That's the key question, can the guy hire a decent staff? He's young and has been hanging out in Shanahan's shadow for the past 15 or so years. It'll be interesting to see who will follow him to Miami.

Seems like a smart guy but, young, 37 and as Dave Hyde points out, Miami was the only team to interview the guy. Are we to believe that Ross and Grier know something that nobody else knows? Is anybody going to believe that?

Two playoff appearances, lost both. Only 4 winning seasons, 2 of which were delivered by Brian Flores. The reason the 100,000.00 checks don't exist is because Flores refused to lose on purpose, something no serious coach would do on purpose. The word is that he has eye witnesses so, we'll have to see how it develops.

The speculation is that the QB at the marina was Brady and it was while he was still with the Patriots which is "tampering" which is illegal in the NFL. Also, throwing a game, losing on purpose is illegal in a league aligned with sportsbook legal gambling so, Ross was asking Flores to do certain things which were illegal and Flores refused to play along. Who's the bad guy? Flores's bac

I'm not sure what you mean by, "He took the money." He was being paid to win games and that's what he was doing, trying to win games in spite of the fact that the front office was trying to sabotage the season. If you're suggesting that he took the 100,000 bribe then I would suggest that you're wrong, that's what he was being fired for, refusing to lose games on purpose. I see Flores

Now Harbaugh is planning on staying at Michigan and not taking the Vikings job. It looks like TreasureCoast might be right and that Harbaugh was destined for Miami all along and that Minnesota was a smokescreen. Anyhow, whether intentionally or not Flores threw a wrench into Ross's master plan now we'll be lucky to get Vance Joseph as a Head Coach.

It sounds like a done deal that Harbaugh will be taking the Vikings job. Makes sense considering he'll be in a weak division playing such powerhouses as Detroit, Chicago and, a Packers team possibly without Rodgers. He'll be going to the play-offs every year.

Most everybody has a call recording app on their phones so, there may be records of conversations. My guess is that after the 0-7 start, when Flores started winning some games is when the 100,000.00 offer came into play. Some might argue that Ross wanted Burrow, which would be good for the team so, what's the big deal but, Ross was, for all practical purposes, asking Flores to sacrifice his car

Ken, if you've been saying that for two weeks now then you must have been saying it on another forum. Other than your post 12 days ago about Harbaugh you haven't posted here for months. My understanding about McDaniel is that he doesn't even call the offensive plays, Shanahan does. Is it possible that we could be setting ourselves up for another Joe Philbin type situation, good football mind but

The Defense IS NOT stellar. Beating up on bottom feeder teams with back-up or rookie QBs will rarely get you to the play-offs. Beating up on Baltimore certainly was satisfying but, the only play-off team that we beat was New England and that was because of the rookie QB getting rattled. Until we can start having success against Barffalo we will always be playing for a wildcard and, our D had noth

With every caveat that the front office imposes the smaller the field of potential HC candidates will be. A top shelf, well established HC candidate would demand total control of personnel and coaching staff. So far the front office is dictating who the QB will be and who many of the coaches will be. Don't be surprised when they announce the name of the new coach your first reaction will be,, &q

Rodgers would be looking for a "win now" ready team and, Miami is not it. Besides, Rodgers has turned into a bit of a head case with his non football related distractions. I used to like the guy but, he's not a realistic fit and certainly not the future beyond a year or two.

Harbaugh wanted nothing to do with the Dolphins organization 10 years ago and we've bumbled our way through 4 head coaches since then. IMO Harbaugh knows he can do better elsewhere and he's not desperate. My guess is he goes to the Raiders if he even returns to the NFL.

Why would Harbaugh want to come to Miami? He's a hot commodity. Las Vegas was paying Gruden 10 million per year and has a competitive team ready to make a run. It would take more than a Michigan connection to entice him to come to this dysfunctional mess. Ross might covet him and the timing might be right but, the clown show has been front row center for decades.

It's just about certain that we are not in the running for a good experienced HC. Those guys would demand personnel control and would want to choose their own QB since they know they must have results within three years. No, we'll get a bright eyed coordinator again and hope for the best. Unfortunately, Miami is getting a well deserved reputation as a dysfunctional organization where coaching ca

Letting Flores go so quickly did him the favor of immediately being on the short list of every HC needy team. Flores will get picked up quickly, probably by Denver, who value defensive minds.

This really shows the warts of the organization. Flores' first season his team was pulled out from under him in a bid to tank for Tua. He wasn't even allowed to pick his own QB since he has said he wanted Herbert. In his 2nd season his hand was called from up above like, "We want you to play Tua instead of Fitzpatrick, yeah he's still limping a little and he doesn't really know the playbook

Flores is likely hearing the same rumors that we are, that Jim Harbaugh might be returning to the NFL and Ross' fascination for him. Flores doesn't know for sure how secure his job is.

As I see it, trading for Deshawn Watson is a lazy man move. Why pay multiple 1st rounders and who knows how many 2nd rounders for a guy that cost the Texans only one 1st rounder to begin with. If your front office is doing their job they should be able spot the next potential superstar through meticulous research, analytics, interviews, basically just doing your job. Herbert was there for the tak

Dave Hyde of the Sun Sentinel had a good article about the rebuild, too bad I can't post the link. The gist of the article, Miami did a three year rebuild to get a team that's less potent than the one led by Jay Cutler three years ago. Ouch. 5 1st round picks over two drafts and we're still an 8-8 team. Any organization that has to tank to get their QB is probably too stupid to be able to buil

Chris Simms comes out looking like a seer and will be taking a victory lap. Tua was terrible today. He's a decent QB against bad teams in ideal conditions. Unfortunately every team in the AFC East has an outdoor stadium and we need a QB who won't fold on the occasional bad weather days. Tua is not that QB so far.
