sam i get that you don't like thill but the QBs that went in the first would be 7th - 8th options next year. The browns won the first round by avoiding any of those clowns. It's like sitting at the bar at 2am and there's only 4 fat chicks there. Do you make a move on the skinniest one or go home, paddle it, and try your luck another day. The Bears became the new Browns this year. During

we just took the next michael sam without the social justice nonsense. we had a top 10 talent fall into our laps and passed on foster. TJ Watt is just scratching the surface and is a playmaker. I can see Tbaum trading all of our 5ths to get a 2nd 3rd and we end up with 4 players this draft. locked in on 1 or 2 players for months is no way to set a draft board.

Couldn't agree more, footballgod. I know coaches have egos and want to do things their way but I always wondered why coaches didn't try to emulate the "patriot way" and it seems Gase is doing just that. It will take him a couple years but it is refreshing. I only hope he continues to keep tannenbaum in check. If so he'll have a great chance at building a continual winner.

244. Re: Draft
then you draft that in the later rounds. go get mangold and pick up a vet guard the next wave of cuts but not a high pick. Those are reserved for difference makers.

245. Re: Draft
We don't need to waste another first round pick on the Oline. Sure, we didn't sign the big name Gs in FA but were they worth what they got? We lost last year because we couldn't stop the run to save our lives. The entire offense will be in it's 2nd year in the system. That alone should improve their performance. What we should be focusing on in the draft is LB and DE.

I'm more worried about our fragile C than guards. I'd get Mangold as insurance.

Wait and see how Branch's contract is structured. Agents like to toot their own horn with the total # but my guess is it's very team friendly.

All's quiet in phin land. The way it should be the first day of FA. Gone are the days of winning March and actually building a team. Thanks, Coach Gase. It's been a long time coming.

If we give stills 12mm/year landry will get 15. Not good business. Still had 42 catches last year. his 9 tds are nice but can be replaced. He also averaged 47 yards/game. That isn't 12mm/year stats. Ted Ginn put up comparable #s but only 4 tds for 2mm/year. Still performed in his contract year. Someone will vastly overpay him like a #1 and it better not be the phins.

Nick Mangold cut by the jets. I'd go after him hard before FA starts. 1. He'd be an upgrade to our injury prone center. 2. signing him now wouldn't count against comp picks

That's a nice haul. Most were predicting a 3rd and 1 5th. I don't know the formula but I like it. The comp picks are tradable this year so that's nice.

If stills walks I'd take Ted Ginn back at half the cost.

I'm good with it because 2 other teams were pursuing him and he picked the phins to reunite with coach Gase. He is going to take a prove it restructure loaded with incentives. It's been a verrrrrrrry long time since a player chose the phins because of the coach. Giving up a 7th is nothing.

254. Re: Draft
Now the Herald is reporting that it's not for Thomas but a late round pick in 2018. We're doing the Jags a favor not letting Albert hit the open market. At least get a pick this year.

I just hope Tannenbaum doesn't get bent over and throw in a pick with Albert.

256. Re: Draft
Per the Sun-Sentinel the Phins and Jags are finalizing the Albert for Thomas trade. Phins looking to lower Thomas' salary and the Jags are said to be adding some to Alberts. Gase knows what he has in Thomas. If he's good with it, I'm good with it.

Salguero is saying that the Phins are talking to the Jags about a trade for Julius Thomas. They'd prefer a pick but would take a player too. You get your TE for a guy they were going to cut and save 1.8 in cap space. If Thomas sucks we have no cap hit if we cut him after a year.

258. Re: Draft
Here's a list of some former first round TEs. I'm sure they were hailed as can't miss prospect like Howard and Njoku.... 1. Vernon Davis, 49ers (No. 6, 2006) 2. Dallas Clark, Colts (No. 24, 2003) 3. Heath Miller, Steelers (No. 30, 2005) 4. Kellen Winslow, Browns (No. 6. 2004) 5. Brandon Pettigrew, Lions (No. 20, 2009) 6. Jeremy Shockey, Giants (No. 14, 2002) 7. Dustin Keller, Jets (No

Atlanta did have it won. Once Jones caught that pass at the 22 up 28-20 they should have run it 3 straight times and attempted a fg to go up 11. The pats would have burned their TOs and had about 3 mins left down 11. And if you're going to pass it roll out so he can throw it away if need be. The absolute last thing you can afford their is a sack. That was as obvious as Seattle runnin

That is a good site and if I'm the phins I'm offering Stills Travis Benjamin money...4 yrs 24mm. Sims isn't worth 4.8mm/yr. 3 yrs 10mm. He can make some money, prove himself, and still be young enough to get paid after this contract. Not sure about Branch. 7.5/yr is reasonable for a DE. Just didn't think he was that good last year.

Agreed but look how long it took Ryan to be a top qb. I'm all for using a 3rd or 4th every couple of years on a QB. Competition is good but the thing that sticks out with the 4 is continuity. Ryan had new coords forever until dan quinn was hired. He's playing in the same system for the second straight year and it shows. Tanne made strides this year. Hopefully next year it's astronomica

I hope matt burke took note of the pats and steelers Ds last night. The pats DBs out physical'd the steelers WRs at the line and completely disrupted their patterns and timing. They weren't afraid of getting beat deep and knew they had safety help if so. The steelers, on the other hand, played much like joseph did against pitt. They played 10-15 yards off the ball in a soft zone giving br

If I were a gambling man I would wager that the winner of the Steelers/Chiefs game will suffer a significant injury paving the way back to the Bowl for the Pats.

Very uninspiring victory. If Oswieler didn't suck so bad the Texans would have won by 10. So glad we didn't spend 6mm/year to keep Lamar. Good back but nothing special.

I'd love it if peppers was there at 22. I want us to draft TJ Watt from Wisconsin. That boy can play LB. Projected to go in the 1st or 2nd but haven't seen his name in any mocks. If we could get him in the 2nd or 3rd I'd be pleased.
