RESPONSE: And just like Defensive Tackle, NT, and DE/OLB (Eric Kumerow, Jason Taylor)
There are "tweeners" and persons who can fulfill both. Odrick himself fits that category.

RESPONSE: I apologize for any misunderstanding. I never said we should draft both. I said we should have drafted Best in the first round and that we could have had Gerhardt with our next pick. Of course, we should not have picke

I'm not saying we only field one linebacker on a play in football. I'm saying that in terms of drafting and needs, linebacker, Inside or outside is only one need consideration.
The old saw is that "you lay down with dogs and you come up with fleas."
It is my fault for arguing with someone as simple-minded as MikeO that gives everyone the impression that I am saying

RESPONSE: berkeley, MikeO's real anger is coming from his trying to correct my facts when I said Blount was not the instigator in the famous punching incident. I said he was swung on or hit first.
To refute me, MikeO posted a video that shows the g

RESPONSE: Yeah, but you can replace your backup running backs with first line draft choices. That way if Ronnie and/or Ricky go down, you don't have to rely on back-ups to carry the running game and keep the heat off Chad Henne and the p

Just the point, Hokie, we pass on big names to get a bunch of guys who might be solid performers but whose chief virtue is that we can get em with lower picks.
At some point, you gotta go for the gold.

MikeO, there are trades and there is free agency both pro and undrafted. You don't have to get it all from the draft.
Eesti, as an exception to the number of linebackers as a whole, I actually like the Odrick pick as a player and I really like Nolan and Rashad.
However, at some point, you gotta draft the Drew Brees.
You gotta take a chance on excellence.
You gotta say, "Darn i

I'm not here to defend Kiper on picks. The question is the evaluation on the draft as an overall Mosaic. That includes not only the picks, which by the way the guys we picked may well succeed, but whether it was right to go overboard on linebackers and to pass on some potentially impact guys to satiate that perceived need at linebacker.

Either address why there is more than one receiver but it would be stupid to draft four receivers (when there is a no.1 receiver, a no. 2 receiver, etc.)?
If you can't keep up, just admit it. I said your position is stupid. I didn't say you were (which would be name-calling).
But if your position is so stupid even you can't defend it, then I don't blame you for bowing out.

I hope you don't disappear or develop amnesia when we observe the same offense that was RANKED 17TH last year (only five spots ahead of our 22nd ranked defense) ends up getting Chad Henne killed.
Oh, you bastard! I just realized what you will do. You will then start blaming the Kid, Henne.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Kiper gave us a C minus and I gave us a "D" and nearly everbody on this board jumped on me. As I say boys, its not the players, its the whole team needs, the players passed on, and all of that as a mosaic.

Doubling up maybe but QUADRUPLING UP?????
And by three starters, I hope you are talking about at THREE DIFFERENT POSITIONS.
If you are talking about one position like linebackers, you had better be the Indianapolis Colts, almost undefeated, and not the piss-poor Miami Dolphins, with a 7-9 (?) record 17th on offense and 22 on defense.

I think it was the misspelling of the name as being Jevon that misled you, berk. Had you knew it was spelled Jevan, you might have thought of France, instead of Watts.

Also, there are two ways of looking at the draft.
You can look at the individual players and here, they all may be, by the end of their careers starters and stars. That may well be true. However, that would not mean that it was a successful draft if we end up trading most of that talent while we lose games for lack of breath.
On another post, Mike0 and Odenn, said that you don't try to dr

I love fried chicken.
A buddy of mine in high school, also Black, once said "You eat so much fried chicken, you're gonna sprout wings." Particular types of food would hardly be identified with ethnic groups if those groups did not like that food.
Had Griese said that about me, it would have been accurate.
Now maybe he didn't know the guy liked tacos but...come on.....

Now that he is an undrafted free agent, he becomes a consideration.
