Yeah, they had a great team but the point IS they started building that team in 1967 WHEN THEY HAD NOTHING....by drafting their franchise quarterback (Bob Griese) FIRST, FIRST, FIRST, FIRST. I bet you a lot of the other posters got this point from the beginning. But except for SamSam, they are just scared to confront you.

And who would guesd that that new franchise team would in 6 years become the only undefeated team in NFL history.

Also sung by the actor who was supposed to be George Steinbrenner on that famous Seinfeld episode where George Costanza attempts to get himself fired from the Yankees so that he can be hired by the Mets at a greater position.

Waiting for an answer on Tanny being a pocket QB which is NOT how the Titans are using him. That's a football question. The answer is that like the 67 Dolphins you build the whole team STARTING with the QB.

I said Tanny was not suited to be a pocket QB. Do you know the difference???? I really don't think you do.

"should have been" a low first???? If you put "according to the experts" behind that phrase then you may not turn out to be right but at least you have an arguABLE point. But pardon me if I don't consider you an expert. If fact, I don't even consider you to be objective. You just want to keep us FROM drafting 5 QB that will turn out to be good.

And trading the high draft pick for a much lower pick is still giving it away. It's just giving it up for more lower items. And I didn't attack law enforcement. Prosecutors are law enforcement too. I spent 30 years as a Deputy Attorney General and was the office's death penalty case Coordinator. What I questioned is that with your nasty temperament whether it got you disciplined.

But you want us to pay rhat high price for a tractor or a lawn mower, Treasure. The high price is a valuable high draft choice and when you trade down, you're still using it, You're just giving it away.

Why didn't you say the name Bob Greise? He was drafted second overall as I remember AFTER another QB, Steve Spurrier as I remember? And why are you so nasty in asking for a response. I have no idea how you have kept a badge so long unless you have already lost it and just won't admit it.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. The further back in the draft you draft a player, the lesser the odds that you get the best at that position. The lotteries in the nation remain in business because there are enough people who believe that despite the fantastic odds against them PERSONALLY winning, they just MIGHT win when buying a single ticket. But you don't COUNT on it. Husbands who spend the family's mo

That's him playing average Sam. Put him back in a pro set offense and you will see the Dolphin Tannehill.

Decades ago, the Dolphins used to run the Wildcat when it was a hot item in the NFL. I hated it. But it was years before Tanny and would have been perfect for him. Folks, it's more complex then is he a good or bad QB. It's a question of the scheme. Tanny played in one scheme in high school, college and the Titans and succeeded in all. He played in a different scheme with the Dolphins a

You're just flapping your gums. What point of yours have I failed to address????? Point...not conclusion or opinion. I have addressed your argument that we should draft a lineman over a QB. I've addressed your drop-down suggestion. What are you talking about?? Or....are YOU the one just flapping your gums?

Okay, I'll break it down as simply as I can. You're looking for a car (let's assume you cannot buy a new car). I know it's the draft and all the cars are new cars but bear with me. Two guys are in your neighborhood selling their used cars. One car has a solid engine, it needs work on the carb, radiator, head and brake lights, radio, etc. The SECOND CAR has all of those accessories work

You have a quilt patch way of looking at things. Last first, Tannehill was traded by us because he stunk here. I'm not going to go back to my million time explanation why he stunk here, something that Tennessee cured and made him good. I remember the Brees Rivers draft. I kept hoping for Brees because he came from Purdue. If I remember correctly, Rivers was the last pick (or QB pick) of

Unless you get a rare talent at another position, you take QB if you don't have one (and I don't mean a bench rider). I remember sitting in the stands at the Coliseum one year in the second half of the 1960s. I don't know who was playing USC. But it was the first time I saw OJ play live. Most of us have seen dogs run in an open field. They make slant moves at full speed none of us could make

No, what got us into this mess was drafting Tannehill and not playing him in either a read option or wild cat offensive set as the Titans did. The difference between a nail and a hard headed person is if you hit the nail hard enough it will go through the wood but no matter how hard or how often you hit a hard head with the message, he will never get it.

The QB position is not like tackle. At tackle, you let the guy have the position until you find better. With QB, you draft the best. We drafted Woodley and didn't we draft Marino the next year? I may be wrong.

116. Re: Brady
And I think that now everyone will get to see what I've been saying all along. Throughout his career, Brady's main opponent has been the Dolphins, who have just sat back and given him enough time to play a chess game in the pocket after the ball has been snapped. Now, on the other hand, he will be confronted with ferocious pass rushes and all will see why he was not drafted until the 7th round.

Yeah but the QB has to be experienced WITH and confident IN the offensive SCHEME that he is being asked to operate. He IS in Tennessee but he WAS NOT here in Miami. You can't discuss the issue without discussing the read option.

The higher the draft choice, then the less negative affect a delay can have. In fact, it's a good thing because the more time you have to evaluate your intended pick. The further down your pick, the more opportunity for other events to affect your intended selection.
