I like how I'm starting to see the phrase "Rothgate" pop up here and there in the blogosphere. Well really in just two places so far. I came up with what I thought was a funny name to describe this whole Matt Roth scandal early yesterday and then I see Omar use it on twitter (he's been known to frequent this site from time to time) and then some guy named John Renshaw uses it earlier to

Are you calling him dontae on purpose as some sort of diss or inside joke, or is it just a typo you keep making?

I'm starting to get kind of concerned. What's all this drama with Matt Roth about. He sits out during practice doing light exercises by himself on the sidelines instead of doing any sort of normal contact drills with the rest of the team. Reports say he failed his conditioning test. His agent Drew Rosenhaus claims he suffered some sort of groin injury (again). Sparano says he is "under the w

I think this team is much better than last years. That being said I think we go 8-8.

Having two "home run threat" RB's is not what makes the Wildcat a dangerous threat for us. Since unveiling it in New England last year, it produced consistently less yardage and we had consistently less success with it each game. Two skilled RB's isn't the answer. If it was, we wouldn't need Pat White. Teams just stacked the box because we had no legitimate passing threat out of it. Th

Sam what's wrong with you? I was responding to Miami Thunder's comment about how many of our players he thinks are going to get injured. I quoted his original comment and your response to him because I was agreeing with your outrage over such a ridiculous prediction. Did you even read my post? I wrote "Yeah really?!?" (it was phrased as a comment of concurring shock, not a sarca

If I knew that he'd keep his nose clean, study the playbook, and train hard for us, I would do it. When he was focused, he was a G.

Come one Mike. No one is saying he was a stud at anything. But I remember those games that he started and I remember how his ability to avoid the rush, stay on his feet, and scramble was the one bright spot that suggested there was a potential there for us to make plays. He found receivers a couple times by buying a lot of extra time with his feet. I'm not re-writing history, I saw him down right

Hey I got no problem with someone pitching the argument that we better have solid backups in case of injury, I think it was just the way you put it. It was kind of like 'Hey everyone, prepare for some heavy injuries this season, I wouldn't be surprised to see a WR...make that two, go down with injuries, oh and a RB, and TE, either a guard or tackle, and most likely a DT.' It was like tr

Cleo Lemon won't play QB for them if Brady goes down. Guarantee they are looking at him for the wildcat. The one thing I remember about Lemon was that he was really good at avoiding pressure and slipping past defenders. Our crappy O-line would let a DE or LB through every play and Lemon would dodge them, staying on his feet until he found a receiver or picked up a few yards with his feet.

No, if the observations from OTA's about how good he looked and how much potential he looks like he has end up being pretty accurate, I think it will mean that we have a good young player who may turn out to be a real solid safety, but not necessarily someone who is going to immediately unseat a healthy and already pretty skilled player in Gibril Wilson. My guess is that if he is that good, he'll

hahaha..... Twilley you're right. After reading the post above your own, I started laughing. The "free-spirited" grammar and poignant nature of that post has Dolphinsnumberonestunner's fingerprints all over it. Nice to have you back stunner, but reinventing yourself was unnecessary. For all the crap you may have gotten from others a few months back, you did earn some cred for stumbling

Thanks. That's a pretty detailed explanation of the Wildcat. While I understand it much better, it seems that someone like Mike Vick created this type of mismatch every time the Falcons offense took the field. Instead of 11 on 10, because he was a threat himself, defenses would often times have to designate one of their linebackers as his personal shadow, effectively freeing the offense up to tak

Can someone please explain to me (REALLY EXPLAIN TO ME) what the wildcat really is? I don't understand this "throwing threat" that Pat White supposedly brings. So what you're telling me is that we put a QB (who apparently can run fairly well; though untested against NFL-speed defenses) behind center. And then here's the kicker.....he can either throw it, or...(still with me?)...he c

Hartline just signed. I think we can agree that something like this can pass for news during these terribly stagnant months of the football season. And hopefully he'll be good. I mean at 6'2 he's our tallest receiver by at least 8 inches (with the exception of Turner)

"And you have NO PROOF at all that Brady was getting defensive formations into his helmet before the play. that was NEVER reported!!!!! Actually that is impossible to do and you just made it up and exposes and throws out your whole argument as invalid." Yeah, great argument Mike. "NO PROOF" Why is that? Oh yeah because Roger Goodell destroyed the proof. That was f*ing jaw d

It's not cheating it's smart? That's retarded. The 3rd base coach goes through 10,000 gestures after every pitch to ensure his calls remain undecipherable to the other team in the event that someone from that team is ATTEMPTING TO CHEAT by trying to steal them. In order to gain an unfair competitive advantage. I'll repeat that "an unfair competitive advantage" Not because it's a

"Dammit! How many times have I told you?" - Jimmy Johnson, throwing a portable television at offensive coordinator Gary Stevens on the flight back from the New England playoff loss in 1997 after watching the video and seeing the Patriots had stolen the Dolphins' calls (from former scouting director Bob Ackles' autobiography, The Water Boy) Are you serious? God damn Patriots... Ha

To each his own. However, personally, I couldn't disagree with you more on Landshark not being as good as Corona. I used to drink Corona sometimes. I first tried Landshark a little over a year ago and I haven't had many Coronas since. I don't really bother unless there is nothing else. For me Landshark tastes like what a Corona should taste like given it's popularity. For me, Landshark has mo

Love the Collinsworth idea. Hated Tony K. Kind of find Gruden to be abrasive and a little off-kilter as a panelist (not much of a departure from his personality as a coach)

Believe me if I was in your shoes I would operate in the same manner in order to reinforce the proper usage and pronunciation of the many grammatical concepts often butchered by those in the school system pegged as lower socio-economic status students. I can sort of relate. I am finishing my last few weeks of work as an ESE Instructional Aide for Leon County Schools (Tallahassee) Early Childh
