Having suffeered 2 season ending injuries, I think it is time to move Ronnie. Can we get a second, maybe from a team like the Seahawks?
Thsi would let us go:
Best available:
MCclain, Witherspoon, Kindle, Jerry Hughes(JT in Prime like skills), Terrence Cody or Pierre-Paul
2nd
Dunlap, Spikes, Norwood, Greg Hardy,
Gerhart, Best, Dwyer, or Demarco Murray
3rd - 6th
DL Cameron H

We need a lot. It depends on what we get via free agency. THE CBA could limit us significantly
LB McClain, Kindle or Spikes or Witherspoon(have seen him ranked 1 & 2)Norwood. Muckleroy
DL Dunlop, Odrick, Pierre-Paul, Wooten
S Earl Thomas, Deunta Willaims
WR Braylon Edwards or Bowe, with Decker Shipley or Kelton Tindal (sub 4.2 40 !)http://www.nfldraftbible.com/Small-School-Spotlight
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Would ne nice. it is likely we end up with McClain or one of these other guys
The other finalists:
>> Texas' Sergio Kindle.
>> South Carolina's Eric Norwood.
>> Florida's Brandon Spikes.
>> Missouri's Sean Weatherspoon

Some free agents that would be great additions:
S
Nick Collins - Great year
Darren Sharper
Terrence McGee
LB
Elvis Dumervil
Demeco Ryans
Omar Gaither
DL
Adelwale Ogunleye
Ray Edwards
Casey Hampton
WR
Braylon Edwards
Vincent Jackson
Miles Austin
Brandon Marshall
Steve Breaston
TE
Tony Scheffler
RB
Mike Bell, Darren Sproles, Jerome Harrison
OL

Assuming we get a WR via FA could the draft look like this?
Best of:
1. Everson Griffin, Greg Hardy, Brandon Spikes, Dan Williams, Terrence Cody, Sergio Kindle, Ricky Sapp, Sean Witherspoon, Carlos Dunlap
2. Toby Gerhart, Jonathan Dwyer , Joe Mcnight(need insurance for RB & Ricky)
3. Myron Rolle, Eric Norwood, Corey Wooten , Morgan Burnett, Sean Lee
4. Aaron Hernandez - Sleepe

We would be in if we wouldn't have taked against Buffalo and the Titans and one could say the colts & Saints, Beating Houston(haven't we lost the at 3 against them?) and Pittsburgh aren't easy taks
Way too many turnovers and 4th quarter failures.
I almost would rather go 7-9 and move up several picks
Boy Jahvid Best has crazy change of direction moves like Barry Sanders & Chris
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Agreed we wasted a pick on him might as well see what he has. Would a big target made a difference in the Colts game on the last play?
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Hopefully we get Edwards, Austin, Breaston, Marshall or another top WR via FA. Lance Moore & Devery henderson could be lower priced sleepers
Didn't we try to get Cribbs around mid year?
Need a young RB. Is Jerome Harrison the real deal? Mike Bell has been decent, but injury prone Joe Mcnight would be nice in later rounds if avail
Scheffler would be a good addition at TE
Elvis Dume
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
We need a lot. DL, LB, WR, RB and even secondary
Shore up the D line from a pass rush perspective (are wake Merling the answer?) and get more pressure on the QB and that makes the secondary better. get a big playmaking WR threat (Benn. Gilyard, or tate?) makes our offense better so those should be the priorities
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
If we look back we could be about 10-4 just didn't win the close ones that good teams do because players make big plays and minimize turnovers
We knew 10-6 would get us in, 9-7 likely would not.
Hopefully we make some smart draft picks and FA acquistions
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Henne just doesnt have weapons like Chris Johnson, Gage& britt and the titans a porous secondary like ours. get him a big receiver and if we can run the ball this opens things up and forces the ball a bit too much. If we can add a few more pieces and shore up the D we will be better. I will take him over Sanchez. get us Edwards and that's a start
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Some nice additions for 2010 would be some of the following:
Toby Gerhart, Dan Williams, Eric Norwood, George Selvie, Kelton Tindal
Owen Daniels(unlikely) or Tony Scheffler
Miles Austin, Braylon Edwards , Vincent Jackson, Brandon Marshall
Shawne Merriman, Demeco Ryans,
Nick Collins
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Gilyard is likely the best WR but won't be there when we pick. I would rather take Gerhart & pick up a WR in FA like Braylon Edwards, Miles Austin, Vincent Jackson, Steve Breaston
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Adding a Danario Alexander Shay Hodge Kelton Tindalin later rounds would help. Gilyard would be aawesome, but likely gone
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
I didn't say give him $10M. Would you have said the same when Moss was suffering with the Raiders? Edwards & Marshall even maybe Bowe give us a bigtime receiver that would open up the game for the others like Bess, Hartline, even Ginn
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Reality is barring running the table (highly unlikely when playing 3 quarters) the season is over. See what you have in your draft picks
Thigpen on the cat?
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Maybe the Tuna show is done?
Davis ahead of Patrick Chung & Jarious Byrd,Louis Delmas
Pat White (turner & Hartline on some) ahead of Massaquoi, Mike Wallace, Austin Collie, Johnny Knox (5th) even Julian Edelman 7th
Edwards may suck but he is way bewtter than anything we have
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
We are what we are, a .500 team at best. We play 3 quarters and should have won the saint & Indy games, but gave them up with coaching and execution errors
No defensive pressure up front & no receiving game spells trouble in the NFL
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
As someone else stated Bess & hartline are likey 3&4 , we need at least one big time WR. Pray for Marshall, even Edwards would be a huge upgrade
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Jemarcus Russel is terrible, might as well get Jared Lorenzen if you want a 300 lb QB that is useless. He is worse than the Culpepper(signed over Brees!)
Just nepotism and people with jobs that are clueless
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
The truth is until we start making better FA acquisitions & draft picks we will always be mediocre or worse. Get some players that know how to play the full game.
We have question going into 2010 at WR, RB, Dline, LB,
Big questions
Porter
Taylor
Brown? Can we get anything?
Williams(1 more year)
Ginn (Maybe cleveland would give something)
White (looks like a bad NFL pick)
Wils

Best and Spiller may be better athletes, and can break the long one but guys like this and Brian Westbrook just get injured too much. We have to have concerns with Ronnie breaking down, this is what his second or third season ending injury, and Ricky may have one year left. Get a guy that is durable and a quick scat back alternative in later rounds or via FA.
We also have to be concerned the P

Some other later round players would be:
RB
Demarco Murray, Joe Mcnight, & Dimitri Nance, Brandon James Need a quick complimentary weapon
WR
Jordan Shipley, Danario Alexander Kyle Williams, Johnny Spevak, Carl Moore, Sleeper(maybe until combine) Kelton Tindal(Sub 4.2 40!at 6'3"
TE
Anthony McCoy
Aaron Hernandez TE weapon in the wildcat?
Jim Dray (good size & hands
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Gerhart just made his statement, Spiller bombed. Too bad it was on national TV against Weise!
Golden Tate looked good, reminds me of Hines Ward
like some of the wildcat plays
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
That sucks, Get it done!
My dream off season
Adding Marshall,Cody & Gerhart and a get a sleeper LB in later rounds
I have seen Toby play since he was a teen and he is the real deal, leading rusher in CA high school history 3rd all time I believe. More than Emmitt Smith and many other pro stars.
My nightmare is he goes to the Pats
Sophomore Jeff Fuller of A&M looked like a big
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Likely needs in 2010
Big NT (Terrence Cody,Dan Willaims?
Wide Reciever FA
Running back (Toby Gerhart! Joe McKight)
Line Backer (Spikes, McClain, Pawelek)
TE (Tony Scheffler? Ben Watson?)
WR Free agents
Brandon Marshall (could take Chad and the Dolphins to another level)
Steve Breaston
Braylon Edwards
Lee Evans
T.O.
Vincent Jackson
Kevin Walter
Jason Avant

We need to get a proven wideout and with the draft focusing on defense we still can't guard guys like Moss but don't get a lot of pressure on QB's
