"Yeah I mean I think it's good" Sounds to me like he's not saying what he really thinks. When you think about it, he actually has a lot of time to talk to the coaches on the sidelines as it is. I mean, he's not out there playing special teams or anything, is he?

That Cleo Lemon is no. 5 tells you all you need to know about how bad it's been for us. That and the fact that A.J. Feely even makes the list.

It's clear from this list that we had incredibly specific criteria for our top four picks. To be picked you had to: a. play in the Senior Bowl. b. be a team captain c. not play a skill position We must've had the shortest draft board of any team.

Parcells has never taken a safety in the first round. And a lot of the mocks have us with Dan Williams or an OLB. So, the "surprise" could in fact be Earl Thomas.

At some point next season, I don't know when, you are going to turn on SportsCenter and see Ted Ginn, Jr. return a punt or kick-off for a touchdown in a 49ers uniform. Not saying this was a good or bad trade, but just be ready for that moment.

It was directed against Pete Stoyanovich, in 1992. Here is the account from the NY Times: "In the next-to-last game of the regular season, Stoyanovich "pushed" a poorly held extra-point attempt. The kick went wide and allowed the Jets to keep a 17-16 edge with only two and a half minutes remaining. On the sidelines, the Jets' defensive coordinator, Pete Carroll, was so ec

Lane Kiffin's got his problems, but he's bringing with him Ed Orgeron, an excellent recruiter, and his father, Monte Kiffin, an outstanding defensive coordinator. Oh yeah, and Layla. This might be the best USC could do at this juncture (facing probable NCAA sanctions). I mean, Mike Riley turned them down. It'll be interesting to see how many recruits they can keep committed.

This was a must-lose game. A win right there, and next thing you know we’re in the playoffs and picking at the bottom of the draft again. A loss was critical to improve our draft position. Sparano and his coaches had done their best all week to emphasize this, drumming into the players’ heads the need to come out flat, miss tackles, and above all give up turnovers at critical points in the

Pete Carroll got a lot of heat in LA when he said Sanchez came out a year early. Most of the time a college coach won't criticize a consensus first round pick for declaring early. Among other things, it hurts recruiting. Then when Sanchez got a $50 mil contract and the Jets were 3-0, people thought Carroll looked pretty stupid. Not any more.

On the one hand, it seems like Hudson Houck did a better job in 2007 with less to work with, and some people think Satele and Carey in particular took a step backwards this year. Yet, we were also hurt by the fact that there was almost no depth, and that wasn't Maser's fault.
