Phinsfan2 has it right. Thigpen wasn't brought here for anything other than to be a serviceable backup. i agree with the K.C. love-fest for Cassell, Pioli campaigned for him, and got his guy. Like you said, he's married to him for better or worse.
There was no way the F.O. would insert White as their #2. This isn't a knock against White, but this will be the year Henne shows why he was

you misunderstood me. i predicted the Jets, at the very least, make a wild card bid this year. then, as i thought i made clear in the thread, competition will catch up with them (much like it has with us) and Sanchez will end up just another bum warming the bench in NY (due to the team's impatience)
i suggest you go back and read it again

i have no doubt the Jets success and Sanchez-mania will hit the wall. By comparing rosters, you can see they have more talent than us. (talented LBs, secondary, D-line, O-line) now with an over achieving rookie qb, he's making their WRs and running backs look better than what they are. One message for Jets fans: enjoy it while it lasts.
At the very least i predict a wild card birth; maybe

It would be a different story if we had Kerry Collins subbing in for the injured Pennington, but we weren't given that luxury. instead, we went to a "rookie" quarterback who hadn't yet seen any considerable amount of professional regular season playing time in his life.
No offense, but to judge him based on whatever he did, be it good or bad, is (for lack of a better term) stupid.

i think the secondary will come together nicely. DBs need to learn opposing offenses, recognize patterns, shifts, dissect plays. That takes time and experience. to expect rookie CBs to shut down an offense passing game is not realistic.
While i think the Wild Cat is more than "bubblegum and spit" as you put it, i agree an offense must be able to play winning football with the fun

A&O is right. last year's 11-5 record was the result of smart play, yes, but also this team lucked out in many low scoring wins. we were an 11-5 team, however we were 11-5 against a weak, weak schedule. im not ready to jump ship, and likely never will. "I'm the guy who keeps the Capt. company" -Larry David
this team needs an upgrade in talent. to start, a star ILB to center

quite the opposite IMO. we dont have Huizeinga's money to throw around anymore, we're no longer one of the big fish. the salary cap evens the playing field IMO. We are not the Dallas Cowboys or NE Patriots, and are not playing with J Jones or R Kraft type money

not to be a downer people, but with last nights game as evidence, this team is very close, yet may not be there yet. given the difficult schedule, im not so sure if we can match last seasons record, but what we will do is turn heads and let it be known that last year was no fluke. that being said, last nights game exposed our weaknesses (which arent many imo).
always looking to the future a

not sure who this applies to, but Fri @ 10 am rookie wr Patrick Turner will be signing at Starbucks on Broward Blvd and Federal Hwy (downtown area). my friend's father is in charge of autographs by different athletes and he gave me the heads up tonight...

seems to me that parcells and co. are working off a time table (2,3,4 yrs)... this year, solidify the CBs and receiving corps. Check. Next up will be the OL (barring a major need at a dif. position.) In time fellow fin fans. Parcells knows what hes doing... Next year i guarantee we draft an OL high, possibly a RB (williams is getting old) and LB (I honestly wouldve liked to see an ILB taken

looks like terrell owens (87 overal pick)
hopefully he can match his production, with out the head problems
only time will tell...
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
i predicted the sean smith pick... i wouldve rather seen a LB than a Ginn clone (White) but we will wait and see. Maybe this wild cat will live on...

Boldin wants Fitzgerald type money... 10 mil/yr i think?
im game with shipping the 2a and Roth... but the only teams ive heard linked to the story is Philly and Giants. I do hope Parcells can pull it off this morning. English-Boldin-Sintim rnds 1-2... I dont know if this will happen, but it sure does sound like Parcells

have to agree here, Satele was more of a liability known for getting pushed around by bigger defenders... now I'm not saying Grove is the answer we've been looking for, but it was becoming more and more apparent Satele wasn't going to realize his potential, in Miami anyways.
As far as drafting a C, i wouldn't say 1st round but any time thereafter if talent falls to us. A versatile interior

also, i 'll add that im happy with Ginn Camarillo and Bess as our starting WRs.... Add London as our big man, and i think our WR corps looks pretty good. This year we need to go defense with our first pick...

I'd like to see the phins sign Leigh Bodden, then draft Sean Smith in the 1st rnd. Both players have great size, and pair them with head hunters Wilson and Bell would make a scary backfield... Secondary: problem solved
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
Ive read that grove is exceptionally strong and is considered a very agile Center... two things that Satele doesn't possess. I agree that in retrospect coughing up the dough for Brown may have been a better move, but i am in no way upset with this move.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
i agree that satele hasnt proven his worth at C, but im stil looking for a Center to be chosen in the Oline heavy draft. If satele moves to G i think he can excell, and fill a void there.
Forum: Miami Dolphins Civilized Discussion
i agree, but we're still in need for a starting C. i think the trifecta has their eyes on the draft, perhaps rnd 2... Max Unger or Alex Mack would be a good choice.
