The long term goal is to "internationalize" the game. Goddell longs for the connection with the Chinese that the NBA has established, and the Japanese that MLB has. By the way... Detroit did a hell of a job hosting the Super Bowl, and Ford Field is a great venue, the team just isn't up to par.
