I think the talent is there, but the coaching staff is pushing a system, on both sides of the ball that isn't corresponding to the talent.

The offense needs to be geared to Tanne's skill set a little (a lot) better. He needs to be able to roll out more, read option more .... he does very well when he buys himself time, and is allowed to create plays. Also, in the absence of an O-Line that can run block, it seems that not only would the read option help. so would a little more of a screen game to offset the inability to run.

Well said jsm. It's the coached responsibility to put guys in a position to succeed. As we saw with Philbin, they insist on running their scheme regardless of results. One f the big differences between a successful coaching staff .... and ours, is the ability to make adjustments based on what you are seeing on the field.

I walked away with no optimism after this loss .... I mean win. we have to commit to the run, I have said it a million freaking times, Asking Tannehill to throw the ball so much is a recipe for disaster. And on defense, we have to be able to stop the run .... they better bring their A+++ game to Cincy, I already take a ton of S**t for being a Dolphins fan here, and the Cincy fans are classless A-

The defense didn't look real good last week, that is a concern. Our defense NEEDS to be able to get pressure without blitzing, that is how they are built. With a rookie corner, and Byron Maxwell (who has to prove himself), we can't afford to commit extra players to the pass rush. The O line is pass blocking pretty well, they should, other than Pouncy, the rest of the O-Linemen are naturally t

Crowell had a 85 yard run, take that away, and it looks much more pedestrian. Hopefully he doesn't bust one like that on us ....

I agree, Tenne isn't a good deep ball guy ... may be getting better. I doesn't throw balls that allow receivers to run to the catch. He tries to throw balls to a moving target with not enough trajectory. When you do that, you have to be REALLY accurate. He needs to throw receivers open. Put the ball out in front of WR and let them run to the ball. He is accurate when he has time .... but to get t

I think Ajayi looked good last year, although he was only a change of pace back. Miller averaged 4.5 per carry, and averaged less than 15 carries per game ... he is that good, but he gone! Ajayi doesn't have the ability to make plays when there are no holes, he's not that guy. He needs the O-Line to create space for him, then he will succeed. Our O-line is composed of 1 pure run blocker (

Lamar Miller, 4.5 yards per carry in his career, and less that 15 carries per game .... HOW DO YOU LET HIM GO? And How was he not getting the ball 20 times per game under Philben The money from Houston wasn't much more than we were paying him.

70. Re: BTW
Tannehill's success, as well as the teams success is going to weigh heavily on the ability to field a running game, as has been the case for the last few seasons. When defenses know we have to pass 35 (or more) times a game, it's gong to be hard to win, and hard for Tannehill to succeed individually. So much rides on it; ball control, giving Tannehill time in the pocket, keeping defenses hone
