Cleo Lemon played pretty well for the Dolphins when the team was an absolute trainwreck and the coaching staff was obviously fairly incompetent. I think he'll be a quality backup for the Patriots.

The team did Beck a favor by cutting him early. Maybe he will catch on somewhere else. I'd be happy to see him resurrect his career somewhere else... ... but I'm not going to miss him.

I'm not too worried about Owens. Yeah, he's a great talent, but we've been torched in recent years by receivers who aren't anywhere near his level of play (L. Coles, anyone?) I'd be worried if the Bills had a great defense or someone who can actually get him the ball consistently.

It's all about name recognition. Sportswriters are lemmings. That said, Manning is pretty deserving, IMO. He had a hell of a year after he got over that injury.

Statistically, there is no question that Pennington was a top-5 QB this year. And look at the way he has changed the attitude of the team and lifted the players around him. He really has had an MVP type performance this year, and that's pretty freaking noteworthy. It's his job to lose in 2009. That said, 2008 ain't over yet, guys.

I definitely understand why Wayne is doing this. The proposed increase to the capital gains tax is going to blow. I can't fault the dude for looking out for his assets. I'm sure I'd do the same in his situation.
