lack of quality depth at LG stands out. Can Garner play there?
I think we could use another LB.
I am OK with the RBs since I think Hilliard will be good.

How about RG? Carey's never played Guard in the NFL, and Jerry is a fat lump of flesh right now. As usual, we're thin at the inside of our line. That's been the story for 3 years now!!! How the heck are we ever going to establish a consistent running game...or pass block well enough to execute this offense? What's the point of having a speed WR to stretch your offense if your O-Line can't hold blocks or open holes for your RBs?
I agree, both G positions are weak. How is this the case every year with all of the high picks we keep using there.
Why aren't we signing Brian Waters? Any word on him? I think we need to sign a STARTING LG, put the best player at RG (Incog, keep Carey at RT if Colombo sucks), with the rest for depth. Problem solved, instead of constantly putting square pegs in round holes and shuffling the line.

I mean, how much would Waters really cost, with all of these solid vets signing 1 year, 2mm deals? Sign him for 2 years, 4.5mm with incentives. We've got the cap space.
As for McKinnie, apparently he is out of shape and unmotivated. I'd pass. Murtha supposedly playing OK, once Jake comes back I'm OK with him for depth. Columbo is a solid backup too, just not sold on him being handed the started RT job (and a position switch for Carey to boot)

I thought Hilliard played well at FB last year when Polite got hurt. I'm curious to see where Clay ends up. We desperately need quality depth at TE. If Clay can contribute there, why not keep Hilliard at FB? Heck, I'd start him over Polite! Polite is a great short-yardage specialist, but he's very far from a well rounded FB.
I think hilliard has upside. he played very very well 2 years ago--really exploded into the hole. not sure why he didn't get any carries last year, but if we cut him I bet we regret it. He's worth keeping on the roster as a #3 or #4 back for sure. Sheets and Grigsby are similar players, I think Grigsby goes on PS is Sheets makes the team
