Seeing how bad McQuistan and Murtha were, it was embarassing that they were our backup "talent." It would be much nicer to actually have quality veteran backups on the line. It can be done, too. Incognito's contract for 2011 is just 1.05M, not much over the veteran minimum. Berger is only making $800K, barely over the vet minimum. It would not be outrageous to carry their salaries on the bench.

I would go with Berger. Jerry was one of the worst guards in the league last year. And a year later, he finds himself behind Ray Feinga on the depth chart. That's not a good sign. Berger brings more versatility. If we could sign O'Hara and. Davis, I would keep Columbo, Garner, Incognito, and Berger as the backups.
If we get O'hara and Davis I would see if anyone would trade for Jerry. He was a 3rd round pick last year and he started 10 games. I could see a team trading for him.
It really comes down to do you want to play the market and the draft waiting for a replacement over the next couple of seasons or do you think he will turn into what you want him to be
No one is going to trade for Jerry, he is overwieght and out of shape, that is why we have problems with him. The same can be said for Carey just not as bad as Jerry..

You do know that Cory Procter and his latex glove are no longer with the Dolphins.
