Merling's fate was sealed when we signed McDaniel. To me this is nothing more than giving up a 3rd. Sign me up. I didn't think he would come this cheap.

He just made that up.

Yeah, but when I saw that we signed McDaniel, I figure Merling would become chum so I wouldn't be surprised if it is true.

I don't know if the whole Merling and a 3rd is true, but if it is, I'm ready to pull the trigger. He's okay, but Orten is a proven QB.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
Its not like McDaniels came from another team. He was already on our team and played along side Merling. I dont really see why all of a sudden that makes Merlin expendable.

I could be wrong, but I just dont see it.

On ESPN i saw yesterday the phins were trading for kyle orton......It was on small letters at the bottom of the screen.

I dont know how true that is or if i saw correct. I was with my wife getting my groove on....And the tv was on...So i took a peek.

because everyone assumed McD was not going to be resigned because with him, we have a glut of DEs. By signing it, it looks like they now have a glut of DEs, and we can trade one if needed.

watch this orton deal fall apart though---shades of Jim Harbaugh...

The rumor is Denver wants a second, we will not give that up, Denver has to dump Orton, we know it, so we are not going to give a 2nd. We will give a third or fourth, or we will wait for him to be cut. If Denver back deals him, we will sign Vince Young... We like the idea of not giving up anything for him, and calling Denvers bluff.. Ireland is good! If Orton gets cut, that big contract is gone and then Orton loses some power or leverage. TIme is on our side, and Ireland is gonna play cards...

IF we only give up a 5th for Bush
IF we get Orton for no more than a 3d and sign him to a reasonable contract
then I will be happy with the offseason so far

those are big ifs, let's see how this shakes out

PF2- is it a sign of the apocalypse that we keep agreeing. Cause I agree with it all, right down to the GUard! and I like the Bush move, it puts another dynamic real weapon around the QB that the defenses have to account for. That is big!

The Dolphins walked on that one, Berk, interested yes, but after takin' a look, it made'em like Tony even more.

Seadevil, I hope you're being sarcastic! That is totally not what happened, but Ross's really lame attempt at spin
