Oh Yeah! He had Cleveland near the top of the league on offense last year!! Right??!! I mean...didn't he?

I think he would probably miss them wide open like he did with the phins receivers. at times he had such a long time to deliver the football and he still missed wide open receivers. Too fustrating to remember.
Im pulling for henne. He is now a year older and i hope he improves from last year.
Just my 2 cents i hope he either becomes great or becomes a bust , nothing in between........Im sick and tired of the phins going 8-8 and picking in 20th spot in the draft.
Now there is a huge drop off in talent between Rivers and Ryan.
So it is not an issue of rather having the 5th best qb over the best LT. Ryan is in the upper middle of the pack although I think he is an above avg qb.
I don't think he is even as good as Kyle Orton although there is not much separation. Ryan had more talent on offense to work with so he had a better season in 10.
Ortons play was far from sucking. He is in the top 5 qbs for deep ball passing.
He played on a terrible team last year and turned a flop reciever in a league leading PB receiver.
3600 yards 20 tds and 9 ints in only 13 games. He had no running game...no TE and no receivers.
Ryan had a PB TE, RB and WR with one of the best lines in the league.
I followed him closely bc he was my fantasy qb. He was number one ahead of everyone for most of the year. He had a few bad games but was playing hurt behind a bad line that ranked 26 in rushing and allowed 40 sacks.
Saying he sucks is just not accurate. He had a 21-12 record in Chicago and started 15 games as a rookie. He was a young player who had some great games and has shown he has talent.
He is ready to break out big time if his team can find some continuity. Henne is not even close to Orton.
The comparison wasn't to Aaron Rodger it was to Matt Ryan and Chad Henne. Rodgers was arguably the best qb in the league last year and was on fire. Not many qbs could be compared to him.
You could say that he had only one good year or you could look a little deeper and see that he was thrown into the fire as a rookie....played 3 games over the next 2 years until his was asked to bail out Chicago his final year when they had absolutely NO wrs.
He then went on to a better offense that had some talent and has blossomed into a legitimate starting qb where he had two good years in a row...one without a legit number one wr....where he turned Brandon Lloyd into the leagues leading WR. Brandon Lloyd!...a guy who averaged 338 yards per season thru 7 years.
I think a lot of the "orton" sucks comes from how bad he looked as a rookie in CHI. He did look bad, most rookies do, but didn't he QB the team to a bunch of wins that year and into the playoffs? not bad for a horrible season. if we can get Orton for a 4th rounder I think it is a no brainer.
Yea Aaron Rogers is just fantastic and a true franchise QB. But why didn't his team even make the playoffs let alone the SB? Just curious that a true franchise QB can't make the playoffs. Why is that?
Jake Long is a fantastic player, I'm glad we have him. But...I'd trade him for Matt Ryan in a heartbeat. Ryan is good and will continue to improve. We could have gotten a stud LT later, and lower in the draft.
