I agree Jordan is the greatest, but Jordan took his team on his own back is a little inaccurate. Rodman and Pippen, are both in or going to the HOF. People overlook that alot. Jordan was the finisher and scorer, but without those guys he doesnt get half the amount of rings he got IMO.
No one was better, then Jordan, no if ands or doubts about it, But without a team of allstars and or HOFers, like Rodman and Pippen, he doesnt have the same amount of championships IMO. Rodmans got 5, and is considered the best rebounder of the era. He also got rings with Detoit and 3 with Jordan. He won defensive player of the year twice... Defense is individual performance and hustle, and has very little to do with others, meaning a mans defensive performance is more or less on him.
WHen Jordan came back in 1995, they lost to the majic. THen when they picked up Rodman the next year, they went on win, 3 championships in a row.
SO he couldnt get it done in 1995 past the semi's but he could when Rodman was added to the team.
THis is all without even mention HOFer Scottie Pippen, and yes Horace Grant is a stud as well, and Jordan played with him when he was young. He won that one championship when Grant blocked the last second shot in game seven not Jordan....
Jordan is the best of all time, but even with that he still needed at least one or two other HOfer on his team to win championships. When Pippen wasnt an Allstar the first 3 years and Horace Grant was young, the bulls lost to the pistons three years in a row.

As a kid my moms parents are Irish, and they were from Indiana, the land of Larry Bird. So I watched all of those great, rivalries with them, In his time Majic was amazing, and always seem to have the answer for Bird. But Majic, had AbulJabaar, WOrthy, Ac Green. ANd I will never forget DR J 76ers losing to Majic and the lakers as rookie. Probably one of the most famous series in basketball, history and then came the celtics battles. I have huge respect for what Majic did on the court for sure Chyren, but I am not sure he is Mike Jordan, and I bet if you asked Majic he would say Jordan was more dominant.
Magic was a point guard that could play center or forward. Sure Magic had Kareem and a lot of other stars on the same thing. But I don't think that means you can't separate out his individual talent.
Jordan? I'd put Kobe ahead of him.
Lookit. Jordan was a good player, a great player, even but I think you guys are just kids of the 80's and overvaluing him.
I'm a guy that seen the late 50's, the 60's, the 70's, the 80's, the 90's, and the Oh-s.
Trust me on this boys, Magic Johnson was the game's greatest player.

Well, I googled who was the greatest NBA player and came up with one list of 25 that ONLY had Magic at about number 15..........................and Jordan number 16. LOL.

Give it time. Jordan had Pippen, Rodman, etc.. Wade had an old, slow, Shaq. Now he finally has some talent around him.

But this Miami team will be known throughout the ages for Lebron James more than Dwyane Wade.

Time will tell. BOTH those guys will be 1st ballot HoFers. It would be interesting to see them retire at the same time and enter the HoF together.
I swear to god. People are stupid. Some of these great's ranked ahead of Jordan, dominated in a time, when no one dominated.
Jordan, would school any of these fools. He not only would dunk all over ANYONE, he would embarrass them with the turn around, the fade
I mean seriously.
CrynB you just want to make somone better, because your old and thats what old people do.
Back in my day this was blah blah, you guy's children of the 80's what do you know blah blah, apparantly alot more on who the best player to ever grace the game.
Lol... Seriously lol ohhhh man. Lol I don't really care for basketball, but when I watched Jordan play, I mean come on he destroyed everyone that played against him.
Magic would get destroyed. One on one Jordan would own Magic, hell I bet you Magic would admit to it.

While we're sort-of on the same side here, I have to dispute some of your claims:

Jordan consistently made 1st or 2nd all-defensive team nearly every year he played. I'd say Jordan's defense was better than Kobe's...but not better than Wade's.

This is true, mainly because Magic has a post-up (back-to-the-basket) game. He was taller and stockier than Jordan, so he had that (just like Lebron).

Magic's advantage was his height and strength, but he DID have trouble against small quick guards. He couldn't guard John Stockton, for example.
>
> BACK TO THIRD POINT. Magic was a better three

That came later in his career. Jordan became pretty decent at 3's late in his career too.
>
> Dude, Michael Jordan was just the best player of
> his time.
Yes. THIS I agree with!
While Jordan was super-athletic, Magic had a rare combination of size, ball handling, and court vision. The only player today that can compare to Magic is Lebron, and even James can't handle the ball or pass quite as well as Magic. Of course, James is a better scorer and more athletic player...so it balances out.
It's all about era. If Jordan played today, he'd be great but he may not be better than Kobe or Wade. If Magic played today he'd probably be on-par with Lebron...but not better. If Bill Russell played today, he probably wouldn't be as good as Dwight Howard.
etc..etc..etc..
Picking the best player ever is tough as years go by. Statistically, considering the lack of performance enhancing drugs back then, Babe Ruth is probably the best baseball player of all time. But, put him on a team today with the athletes that exist and, even WITH drugs, he wouldn't be tearing up the league. In fact, he may just be above average.
Jordan last played in 2003. Kinda hard to say in today's world, where Kobe played in 03. and 02, and 01.
Lol you guy's are a miracle with this debate. I can pull up some tape of jordan? I guarantee you will see some stuff that you havnt seen Kibe, or Wade, or James pull off!
Stats dont mean nothing, clips of him taking games over don't mean nothing, nothing means nothing, because you obviously don't care for Jordan, but clearly he was and will always be maybe the greatest player to play the game, again your boy said it best with the quote saying there is michael jordan then there is the rest of us.
YOUR OWN MAN SAID THIS COME ON HOW MUCH MORE DO YOU NEED Jesus help this old man!
Jordan beat Kobe, Shaq, Bird, Ewing, Johnson pretty much everyone who stood in his way so why do you care so much to make a case for your man who publicly stated he isnt as good as Jordan. They all say that! You don't see people trying to compare James with Johnson, nope it was James with Jordan.
I brought the fact's in stats and also in video clips and in quotes. I win this debate no contest just like Jordan schooling anyone one on one in there prime no contest.
