I'll be pissed if we take pouncy at 15. taking the worse brother higher than the better one yet. if you look at guards or centers who go that high, they usually are considered the best at the position in years. I don't hear anyone saying pouncy is that.....
As much as I love Ryan Kerrigan, I realize that it would be overindulging to pick a DE in the first round.
And what's up with Aldon Smith being his pick as a Defensive end in preference to Kerrigan or DaQuan Bowers or Robert Quinn or Jordan? Or is it just that the ones I have mentioned are strictly considered DEs.
How could Leshoure not be on the board? THis guy is lost, but maybe I am wrong.
I think if you look at this offseason the main difference, is no FA, what does that do. It allows teams to hide their cards better. Bluff easier. I think this will be the hardest year to predict the draft, in my lifetime. If Newton and Gabbert are gone I dont think we take a QB until late if at all or if one falls in our lap.
I think we plan on picking up a sexy veteran qb pick up to sell ticket as well as fill a need, before football starts. We might not all be happy with it, but this team values a mistake free qb more then anything. We need a Vet, Penny is gone for sure.
We need a RB or 2, we a guard center, we need speed. We always like any lbers. What will we solve in FA period before football and what will we solve in the draft. I just think now we are all looking at the draft to solve all of our needs becasue of the circumstances of the offseason, and Ireland has taught us anything is that every year, he address his team needs in FA as much as any GM in the game. I dont think we should lose sight of that, even if it is post draft FA.
An argument could be made that Gm's will draft more towards need the normal becasue of lack of FA, but I do not believe that to be the case at least with Ireland.

You still holding hard feelings at me for picking at you!?
Friend, I told you over and over, I like Mallett....I was just using that stuff to ruffle your feathers.
this guy on walter football hates mallet. he lists among the "character issues" as "scantron gate." that sounded intriguing so I looked it up, and it amounts to him showing up to a test at michigan needing a scantron form and asking the other students "anyone want to lend ryan mallett a scantron?" if these are the character issues then I'm not worried
I am confident that Ireland will perform his due diligence as it pertains to character issues and Mallet.
Similar issues were the reason Vontae dropped in the draft and he has been nothing but a pro since coming here. I followed him on twitter for a bit and was pleasantly surprised by his positive attitude and maturity.
If Mallet passes the test he may very well become competition for Henne once again.
I think we can forget the wildcat with the departure of Henning and Ronnie and Ricky so the question then becomes...can Mallet function in the pocket?
Drew Bledsoe was not exactly agile but he had some successful years as does Manning.
Does anyone thing Mallet can be as good as Bledsoe? If so...is he worth #15?....he wasn't great but put up some great numbers....and bad ints.
Oh I know alot of Marino's local crew and italian buddies, I know he was an animal it was the 80's in Miami, come on, but for every Marino their are alot more NFL failures, who lived that lifestyle. Marino would be more the exception then the rule.
Did you see the link to him calling coach Petrino a Coward for leaving? Scribbling his name out on the letter to players and righting coward big in red letters.
What happen in Michigan why did he leave an give up a year to go to Arkansas and then obviously have some issues with Petrino at least at the end. I am not saying he is not worth the pick but at least a few red flags are flying IMO.
I saw that link and there is nothing linking it to mallett. in fact how could it be mallet since petrino is currently the coach of Ark and came there after he quit on the falcons (so how could mallett be pissed at petrino for leaving to coach the falcons???) come on guys...
If our GM's like him, i got no problem with the draft pick, although I would think he could be had outside the 1st, a trade back that gets you one of the top 2 rb's and Mallet would look nice

Exactly. But we need the *RIGHT* QB. I dont care who it is. I just pray they land a franchise QB.
The "right" QB is kind of implicitly implied but for the romper room crowd I guess that needs to be clarified. Don’t want any of the kiddies spilling their jello on the new carpet.
Anyway, take 2 and trade the sloth for a bag of plastic worms.
