I would respect the man that signs my paycheck ! "made me a millionaire" Maybe I'm to old school ......... Thank you Mr. NFL team owner for giving me this opportunity ! When you applied for your last job did you insult the owner or were you happy just to get the job ? Slavery ????

Thats where most people err rick, this situation is not and never will be like the average Joe's. The sooner people stop comparing it to their own work situation the better.
I will never buy that ! Those players were broke before they got that NFL job. Just like you and I. Can't put them up on a pedestal. They are just regular folk like you and I. A union is a union is a union. If they had it their way the owners would be penniless !

RESPONSE: I absolutely agree with everything you say above but would add...... "and if the owners had it their way, the players would work for nothing."

Go back a read my prior post because we, as the fans, are the ones who are getting the shaft. In fact, I am going to repost that in a thread of its own.
If both the owners and players had their way, the fans would be completely broke.

Just playing devils advoacate, that statement is a little one sided for example if the NFLPA and the men who feel they are treated like "slaves" had it their way the owners would work for nothing.
That's true ! So what's fair in today''s market ??????? Let the wealthiest owners pay the most for the best players like the Yankees do ? I think the owners have had enough of the players union dictating terms to the owners. I will bet you there will be a lock out ! Both side could lose fortunes ! Who will give in first ?

RESPONSE: Both sides are strangling the goose laying the golden eggs. If the players are greedily demanding more of a share than they deserve, they are wrong. If the owners are getting fatter and not sharing they are wrong.
Who knows?
The best guess is that both sides are greedy and are killing the goose that is laying the golden eggs.
