Interesting. Has any other NFL team had one quarterback from a major university and then within 3 years drafted another quarterback from the same university?
Whoa! Just saw that he once went in for Chad Henne when Chad was injured.

Sure, but Tom Brady and Jim Harbaugh played at Michigan too.
Locker & Mallet were the top QB's today I think they have moved to top 3 with Gabbert. if Locker or mallet are there at 15 we take them, but they likely won't be.
Buffalo
Cincy
AZ
San Francisco
Tennessee
Washington
Minnesota
if they fall to the second don't expect them to pass a second time, so to move down and get Denver's seconds would allow us to get one of them, but that is a risk. Buffalo and Cincy are likely to pick a QB in the draft
if we did, we could get the following in 2-4
Mallet, Locker, Ponder or Kaepernick and 3 of:
WR - Torrey Smith, Titus Young, Jerrel Jernigan, Leonard Hankerson. Randall Cobb
RB - Ryan Williams, Demarco Murray, Daniel Thomas, Kendall Hunter, Quiz Rodgers
OL - Chris O Dowd, Jake Kirkpatrick, Tim Barnes
, Alex Linnenkohl, Clint Boling, Demarcus Love

There are other successful QBs that fit the rest of those. Brady chokes under pressure...but he benefits by playing behind one of the best O-Lines in the game. Marino was immobile..but that didn't hurt his career. In fact, Joe Flacco was noted for having many of those issues coming out of college, but he's turned out pretty decent.
I'm not 100% sold on Mallet at this point, but from what I've seen his accuracy this past year has been good. He appears awkward because of his height, but so does Big Ben. Kosar also used to look like a wounded duck, but he ended up pretty good.
It's what's going on between his ears that I'm most interested in.
does anyone know any specific "off field issue" with this guy? I keep hearing about vague issues but have never seen anything mentioning a specific thing he allegedly did
Newton fell on his ass like I knew he would where as Mallett showed that he can be a very good Pro QB. I told everyone that Newton is an athlete trying to be a QB where Gabbert, Locker,Ponder, and Mallett are atletes that play QB. That's the difference folks. One that for some of you will be hard to take. Newton's best Pro position should be tight end not QB, and like I told everyone he is going to fail in the Pro's. His passes sailed and he was wildly ineffective without a corners or safeties ,and no pass rush, what in the hell is he going to do against the blitz. So like I said before we will pass on Newton and so will many other teams, but one team who thinks they can change him will pick him and live to regret it.
I saw him throw 2 interceptions on the final 2 drives against Alabama this season. Have a 13 point lead against BAMA and have his offense fall apart in the 4th QT. I only saw this game, the Auburn Game which he got knocked out of, and his strong game against SC. He did look good against the Gamecocks this year and the first half of Auburn. That is all I have to go on, One great game, one collosal fall apart game and one game where he gets knocked out and his team loses to Newton and AUburn..
HE was pretty impressive in the first half against Auburn going toe to toe with Newton. if I remebr right that game was incredibly high scoring, like both teams had over 4 or 5 touchdowns in the first half alone.

Remember, in addition to questions about his immaturity and drug addiction, the main knock on Mallett is that his accuracy falls apart when the pocket breaks down. That's not good in the NFL.
