I know that the draft is loaded with defense this year. But my question is what good is it drafting a defensive player first when they need players on the offensive side of the ball?
It just doesn't make any since. I'm sure this is just a smoke screen.
I don't mind the defense getting more stronger, but , not drafting play
makers on offense calls for alot of 3 and outs, making for a tired
defense.
Drafting best available has gotten the dolphins
2 back to back 7-9 seasons, i think they need
to draft for need this yr , which is everything
on offense.
IF we draft a defensive player in the first rd, I might jump off a bridge.. Our Dline is strong, safety is the only position that could possibly be a wildcard 1st rd pick for us.. We have last years,1st rd Odrick coming back, we have Wake, we have Starks, we need to resign Solia, We have Merling,We have Langford, we have Solia, we have Misi, we have Dansby, we have Vontae Davis.
QB, RB, most likely or a long shot center or WR pick could also be plausable
depends on who is available. I would rather take a pro bowl LB in the first round than a mediocre offensive player. you can't totally rule out a certain side of the ball, we still have holes on D. But I agree taking a DL or CB would be a big waste, I doubt we do that. We could use another LB and a stud safety.

I dont think that makes alot of sense. We solve nothing. Other then replace a rookie with alot of potential to replace other young players that have showed potential. If someone wants to give you a 2nd for Merling you do it either way. And we are still stacked at DL.
We have holes in the running game, interior oline ,speed wr and Qb's questions.
I understand that you do not want to pass on the next Ray Lewis, but I dont believe if you have an offensive need, you should pass on Marvin Harrison to get Ray Lewis, if your greater needs were on offense... Yes they both went in the 1st rd of 1996 which is why I used the analogy. Your stats Phinfans is a big reason I believe we need to take a shot at drafting a first rd Qb, something we have not done since Marino...

Me too. No way possible we go DL in the first round with so many needs on offense.. QB OL TE even a RB because ricky and ronnie are getting there in age...and ronnie is injured every year.
I agree we need to be proactive in the QB position as proved by your stats. I like Gabbert and Newton, if you wait for the perfect situation to take a QB in the first with the position you hold, you wind up in the position of not drafting a QB in the first in twenty years..lol
I agree with what I believe or think to be what PF2 is saying.
I read him as saying that if you are going to pick in the first round, and at the point that you pick, only average OL or QBs are available, and you can draft a superstar on defense, you go for that superstar.
This is, of course, if you don't think trading down to get someone at one of those positions you think are underrated or would be a steal is not an option.
