Ah Yes, been hearing this kind of stuff for 20 years from brand new MBA's. They were the ones who convinced American business that the way to limitless growth and profits was to outsource everything to China. Hmm, hows that working out for us?

Contrarian mathematics not withstanding, I'll stick with my high draft picks...

I'm not seeing the correlation between outsourcing and drafting, but I respect your opinion.

Just making the point that trying to void conventional wisdom and common sense by plugging variables of ones chosing into mathematical formulas rarely works to ones advantage in the real world. Whether we are talking business or football.

But hey there is an upside. Most of my competitors who followed this type of advice went out of business.spinning smiley sticking its tongue out Maybe the other NFL teams will do the same. smileys with beer

careful about posting so much copyright material there. You'll upset the mods...

and this thread probably wont last long

"It's been fun to get the reaction of visiting coaches to the color of their locker room. Most don't notice it, but those that do are in trouble. . . . When I talk to an opposing coach before a game and he mentions the pink walls, I know I've got him. I can't recall a coach who has stirred up a fuss about the color and then beat us.” Hayden Fry

Interesting article, but I also find it interesting that in the last 3 straight drafts, ALL the QBs taken in the 1st round are either successful starters now or have looked very good in the opportunities they've had:

2008:
Matt Ryan (starting QB in Atlanta)
Joe Flacco (starting QB in Baltimore)

2009:
Matthew Stafford (injured starter for Detroit. Looks good when he plays, but takes a beating behind that paper-thin O-Line)
Mark Sanchez (starting QB in NY)
Josh Freeman (starting QB in Tampa)

2010:
Sam Bradford (starting QB in St Louis)
Tim Tebow (projected starter in Denver)

That has to be some sort of record. THREE STRAIGHT drafts!!

It's still a crap shoot as picking any position in the first round. So, you go with your biggest need. To me the jury is still out on Henne so I don't think you throw the dice down on QB.

Are we really supposed to be impressed with Sanchez? I know the NY hype machine wants us to, but if you look at his numbers, he is worse than Henne.

He can't possibly be worse than Henne. At least he can make some plays that helps win games.

He has a much better supporting cast.

He has made some better decisions and won games in the clutch, the one thing Henne has not, Henne was horrible in the red zone, play calling had some impact, but so did his mobility, decisions making and passing accuracy
